I’ll never forget this night as long as I live!! We piled in the motor home picking up other family and friends on the way headed to Jack Murphy to welcome our boys home !!!

I was there, section 39, field level, row 12 with my dad, brother, and 3 of my friends. As soon as we heard about it, told my dad. He immediately told us to load up the grill, food and drinks, packed into his truck and drove to the Murph. Tailgated until they opened the gates. I don't think I'd ever seen the Murph that packed before. It was awesome! It was so packed that people were sitting in the aisles, the crowds even spilled out onto the concourses, the corkscrew ramps, and the parking lot. I can't remember if we paid anything to get in, I want to say it was free but my dad might have paid for us and not said anything. My ears rang for almost a week after this from how loud it was. Fuck Spanos, this town loved that team and you squandered all that goodwill. Maybe you should have asked for a new stadium in 1995, instead of expanding that tired jalopy Jack Murphy Stadium. You might have gotten it.
With the team staying here in 2016 (and hopefully beyond that), here's to hoping we'll see more impromptu rallies like this following more Super Bowl berths in a new stadium in San Diego.
