- Uzor Arukwe is one of the finest actors in Nollywood, period. Even when he has been typecast, he manages to shine and be taken very seriously as an actor.
He gives me an exclusive: He was fired from Etisalat (he says even his mom doesn’t know!) and had absolutely nothing in the world to hold on to, his previous foray into movies had failed, and he didn’t know what to do.
From November 2012, to November 2013 he had no job, and no one was calling him for any film role.
One day, after everyone had left to work and his compound was quiet… he went down on his knees and prayed desperately to God for a big break in his movie career. As he was praying, a phone call shortened his prayer… and it was the director, Jade Osiberu calling about his big break ‘Sugar Rush’.

Uzor has been good from day 1. Him and Gideon Okeke were the performers in our school, NNSS, Port-Harcourt. Navy produced alot of stars. One set alone, Uzor, Gideon, Mercy Johnson and Bwlinda Effah. We also produced other top Nollywood actors in third and fourth set. But the pioneer set was amazing.. Well done Uzor and you were the nicest...

Uzor is a fantastic actor I must say. I've known him way back in 2004 in ABSU Believers Love World ( Christ Embassy). Also a great singer , he was in the choir & drama unit. Glad to see his growth
when I was 'Advised to resign' due to being ill for too long ( a month), I left with my Laptop ( which was mine) and my office printer (which I had to buy because the company was too cheap to buy printing ink but still expected me to deliver). When I think of it now, I realize, only in Nigeria.
