I was a teenager discovering local (Montreal) FM in the mid 70s, and JT was among my fav bands, Benefit being my early favourite. While the sister AM station overplayed Bungle, CHOM played The Last Hoorah & Skating Away, and then mostly forgot about the band for a few years. Songs From the Wood was presented as an 'antidote to the intense depression of Animals' that came out around the same time, and I heard most of the album for the rest of the year. Then Crossfire was the last JT track to be played before they were to be categorized as a nostalgia act... My fav remains Passion Play, though the brilliant DVD from Iceland with TAAB 1 & 2 has inspired me to appreciate that again.... good presentation Matt!
First time I saw a Jethro tull album ,was there first album in a record store in Astoria, NYC. The place was owned by a guy who was a DJ for a radio station here,he always had different stuff. This was 1968.Yeah it was blues, Rock mix...different. Nice collection my man ,I have most of there albums and cds and those 40th,50 anniversary box sets...Saw he a couple of times.I even drove hom from a NYC hotel to a Rock concert .It was held at a airport in Shirley, Long Island .I didn't get a tip, lol. This was 24 years ago.Dam I was young then 48,lol.
Nice, but a Tull compilation without Fylingdale Flyer from A - never…..!
