    It's hard to believe that these figures are so small and have so much detail, you are a truly skilled and gifted man. Well done Shane and many thanks for sharing this video with us all.

    i like your approach very much, it is not too far away from what i do. i like the shading you added to the figure, it is strong enough to be noticed but not too subtle either. just right :)

      thanks Micheal I like going for a kinda strong or stark highlight transition in my figures or especially wargames miniatures its also a very easy method to learn

      indeed, war gaming figures are also a bit overpronounced when it comes to wrinkles in the clothing or features of the face. this alleviates the painting process a lot and makes the shading much easier. thats why they are so popular, besides the fact that you can play awesome battles with them :)

    Hey awesome vid and work job well done. I these days making and painting a Byzantine army 15MM smaller miniatures. I use Vallejo model colors too so as you said as there are the best for the job for these 28MM bigger miniatures too.? I am waiting for some Red Coats revolutionary wars era 28MM plastic but "warlords games" so I need some directions if you like to tell me. So as i can see you first glue the parts hand and heads/hat then you glue it to their base and then you start painting and do I have to pass all of those colors above so many hands? With the smaller miniatures, I just use white for the first hand the base and then only colors but only one hand, and when it's dry varnish and it's done? I guess they have directions in the box for what color you can use per figure and what hands to glue for the figures.? Btw what glue to use for those plastic figures to glue extra well??? Thanks in advance pal and again awesome vid!

    I'm never going to be a figure painter but I admire the art form and really enjoyed the vid. must have been a nightmare getting the camera angle and lighting right

    That figure looks great but the the terminology is abit off. He’s wearing a read “coat” not a jacket or tunic. Each are different garments. And British officers didn’t wear linen trousers they wore wool breach’s

    Great video Shane I have been painting the way you do it got figures and messed them up do you think I should keep trying

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      keep at Kevin, best take a couple of figures from set first as your test pieces and just dedicate a day or two to get used to painting them. the trick is to take your time above all, try not to be too hard and yourself, as it is a learning curve for us all :)

    Thanks shane keep up the good work how do you paint yellow or orange

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      orange you can work up the reds and scarlets then up to orange to build it up, yellow can be tricky you need to start with dark yellow/tan colour and work up from there

    hi shane having trouble painting faces what paints do you use and what technique do you use I use panzer aces shadows flesh then flesh base and highlight flesh try it it does not work what is going wrong I am wasting lot of figures can you help

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use the AK interactive paint set for flesh, and I use three colours from it their base flesh, basic flesh tone and highlight tone, they sound similar to what you use, the best thing to keep in mind using the three colour method, is thin layers above all, and the final highlight is used very sparingly only leading edges of the jaw, brow and nose. Flesh base will be the main colour and the shadow flesh left in eye sockets ect
      hope this helps
