This is why the manga>>> the Szayelaporro fight is so dragged out until Mayuri comes. The anime def needs a redo. Of course I understand they did it to maintain the gap between anime and manga. And seasonal anime was not a thing back then too. But that doesn't change the fact that the pacing is bad. The anime has tons of issues like creating potholes, consistency in animation, choreography, pacing, omitting canon contents, changing canon contents and all these things genuinely made my rating be 7.5-8. However I had a blast reading Bleach (manga, special chapters, novels) and it was a 9. Characters like Pesche, Dondochakka etc. whom I wasn't a big fan of in the anime but I liked them in the manga as they weren't used to drag things out.

Bleach suffers a lot from filler and unnecessary extensions of episodes in this part of the anime, making it painful to watch with all the useless filler fight scenes and long as fuk recaps that ruin the pacing. But that's the studio's problem, not bleach as is. If they did a bleach Kai and made it shorter and more concise, it would be as great as the manga and suffer less from pacing issues.
I agree, I feel like Naruto Shippuden and one piece too could use a Kai version, because some parts really do feel unbearable and to some extent ruin the better fights if they don't live up to the expectation, like with me I enjoyed the last Ulquiorra fight but it didn't leave up to my preconceived expectations because I wanted it to be far more back and forth rather than a changing of the tides fight where one is stronger than the other after a transformation.
I would like to point out Nel is not a "former" espada in the sense she was replaced, but in the way that she was still and espada after Aizen took power and was defeated by a fluke
