"Memories become beautiful." You're _so_ right, Satoshi. 😊 I haven't had Cup Noodles since university, and I remember them very fondly. 😋 Thank you for the great comparison video. Love to you both. 💜💜
@@melissalambert7615 I agree. The thing about "beautiful" memories is that it may be best not to test them. I don't think I'd like Cup Noodles now as much as I did as a student. 😉
People trash on Cup Noodle's noodle texture for being spongey and low quality but I grew up eating them (well, the Hong Kong regional varieties) and enjoy the egg-noodle like softness with just a hint of bounciness. The few times I've been able to try the Japanese produced ones always left me impressed. Nissin's Cup Noodles for me are the most iconic and arguably best brand overall.
OMG I LOBE INSTANT NOODLES SO MUCH! Making them got me interested in REAL cooking and a variety of new dishes and flavours! Also, thanks so much for wishing me a speedy recovery a few years ago when I commented about my dislocated knee.
"Chicken oil" instantly makes me think of New York delis and "schmaltz" (rendered chicken fat) (I'm Japanese-American) Over the years, I have become obsessed with Korean ramyun, especially Shin Black, with that lovely bone broth flavor. I can handle non-spicy versions of Korean dishes just fine, but mild kimchi tastes like disappointment.
@tabieats Thank you so much for doing this one. I was able to find the cup noodle seafood at HMart here in the States and it's one of my new favorite things. It looks like maybe Walmart carries it too?? I'm still looking into that lol. I never would have known it existed without this video. Thank you SOOO much!!❤
Hi Shinichi and Satoshi, I have eaten the cup of noodles alot, and I love the curry, and if I could find that cheese curry I am sure it would be my first favorite, they have cup of noodles here in the US. and when I go to the Japanese stores here they do have the curry noodles that I always get because I love curry. I also make hamburger curry with the Vermiont Curry that the Japanese store carries it is the best curry ever, that store is called the Oriental market and it is located in Utah. I also got a Bokksu box that my son sent to me as a Mother's Day gift last year and I was so overwhelmed with all of the cool things in it to eat. Thank you so much again for this wonderful video that I really enjoyed watching, I love your channel so much, have a beautiful and blessed rest of your day, sending love and hugs, bye!! 😋🥰🤗👍🙏💖💕💜💜
They used to have the seafood cup noodles on the klm flights to Tokyo. It was such a great snack halfway through the flight. Sadly they don't have them anymore. I think that is the only flavour I tried. I've heard the tom yum and laksa are very good so if you find them I would try them. I cannot get cup noodle here in the supermarket so I always get the nissin yakisoba one (either the yakitori or the classic). In Japan as well I usually go for the soupless cup noodles. The negi shio sounds good. As well as the tantanmen.
I live in a small Dutch town with only supermarket-brand noodles, so your cup noodle brands look really fancy. When I am in a bigger city next time I will look for Nissin brand. My favourite taste is spicy chicken.
When you ask for favourite cup or instant noodle flavour, I have never had cup noodle brand because I haven't seen it in my country (I have only seen brands called pot noodle, itsu, soba, and some others, but I haven't seen cup noodle yet, I'm sure we must import it somewhere). My favourite is what I think is a Singapore brand called Koka, the curry flavour one! I grew up with it and I really enjoy it!
my favorite flavor is taka yaki flaovred with mayo/mustard sauce on it, you drain it, so i think its lo-main or something like that, i cant exactly remember, but i used to be obsessed with it. (dang it now i twant one)
I have a limited selection of Cup Noodle brand ramen where I live, but of the ones ive tried, I liked the Curry. However I did visit japan for a while, and one the favorites I had there was this Tantan Spicy Sesame soup. Had a spicy peanuty like broth. I would like to try it again sometime and see if I like it as much as I remember.
There are very few types of Cup Noodle sold here, though it's getting better having more specialty stores around. It doesn't help that a lot of people I know don't have kettles, including myself at the moment, especially since k-cups became a thing. So most ramen is either cooked in the microwave or on the stove, or eaten out. I'd love to try some of these though!
Great video! We don't usually eat instant noodles while we are in Japan but next time I want to buy a bunch to take home. The regular cup noodle looks much better than the one they sell in the US, the one you guys had seems to have more toppings the the noodles look more delish, or maybe its the way you guys presented it. We've brought home the Ichiran instant noodles and it was pretty good.
Now I am so hungry for instant noodles. 😂 My favorite is Shin Black. It’s a little expensive so I don’t have it often. Also I have to be careful about my sodium intake. This was a great video! I hope I can find some of these here in Missouri 🇺🇸. ✌🏼 ❤
The Curry one is my favorite and I usually keep a few in my pantry at all times in case I desire one. For other noodles, I love Nongshim’s tonkotsu bowls (spicy more than black garlic one), Jin Ramen (spicy), Nongshim Shin Ramyun and MAMA shrimp tom yum. For non-soup ones, I love Indomie Mi Goreng (hot & spicy) and Lucky Me Pancit Canton (hot chili & chili-mansi). Indomie had a beef rendang flavor several years ago that disappeared and I really wish it would come back.
I tried that spicy one in the red cup! It was not spicy to me at all, I was so shocked 😂 It did taste good though. My boyfriend and I liked the chili tomato and the original flavour. But I'm sure the tomyum would be my favourite, if I got the chance to try it!
That was a lot of noodles! And probably sodium. Fun video. Don't think I've ever had Cup o Noodles. In my lean years, ate a lot of spaghetti, eggs and peanut butter sandwiches.
you should try doing ramen Hacks (hacks to make cup/instant ramen taste better) my favorite i tonkatsu instant ramen, with some heavy cream, and a slice of American cheese, it makes the soup really creamy
Shrimp, some that I liked don't exist anymore...like remain with oils...but that was a long time ago. The new one for me still shrimp..chilli lime. But I add green onions and sweet chilli sauce to it.
The Curry Cup Noodles is by the best I've had. We don't have nearly the same variety here in the US though. I'd be curious to see if the recipe is much different.
The Japanese Cup Noodles you're trying are oddly a luxury product in Australia because they're an import and priced accordingly - the big size can cost the equivalent of about 700 Yen while the regular size costs about 450 Yen.
Tastebuds can change with age so no surprise if some thing we liked 20years ago doesn"t tastes so good now. Else they changed the recipe 😅 I'd like to try the beefy and spicy ones, hearty and flavorful.
The Nissin Curry flavor is so delicious, but it has more sodium than in any food I've ever seen. definitely drink water or exercise before/after consuming that one!
I’ve never been a fan of “Cup Noodle,” but you two have me wanting to give some of these a try. 🥢 11:54 ~ This made me laugh, Shinichi…Your tastebuds have “matured.” 😅
Yukgaejang is supposed to be spicy, well, it used to be. However, I noticed that Korean food is getting milder due to change in people's taste, especially young Koreans. Those heat and serve Yukgaejang come in pouches are good and spicy.
One of my favorites is Cheddar Cheese, which you were disappointed in ha ha 😂 You seemed to be hoping for mac and cheese flavor, so I can see where it didn't meet your expectations.
Here in Germany we have to pay 1,80 Euros = Dollars 💸😕for one Nissin cup; but we don't get those flavors, they are manufactured in license in Hungary for whole Europe🤔🤭😁 (but still tasty) 😊🤤
You got Yukgaejang flavor?? That's interesting. The original yukgaejang is a quiet spicy but not always, and ramen version of Yukgaejang is not spicy either here in Korea.
Guys it's been such a long time, I missed you both. Hope you both are doing well ❤ getting married in December to my Pakistani fiancé ❤ I'm converting to Islam 😊
I'm a 65 year old Japanese-American so I've eaten a lot of ramen in all its forms sometimes many meals a week. But those in a cup are too expensive for what you get. Walmart is a world famous, low price grocery store. So I do not know why they sell one Nissin Cup Noodles for $4.99/714yen. And at 1160mg of sodium for 2.25 oz of food, nobody should be eating these.
Gave up eating Cup Noodle, because it was always too salty with artificial flavors. For health reasons, I prefer eating real food. Too much fresh food in the supermarket or farmer's market, no longer need to chase for the speedy and unhealthy food.🤭🙄
Aww so much nostalgia for me. Your "original" flavor (the first one) is just like the one I remember from my youth. College student days. Sadly, Cup Noodles changed in the USA. More cheaply made with almost no toppings. I should see if I can order some from Japan! But import rules are funny about foods with certain kinds of meat in them. So dumb since chicken and pork from Japan is WAY better quality than here. 🫤😋😻

"Memories become beautiful." You're _so_ right, Satoshi. 😊 I haven't had Cup Noodles since university, and I remember them very fondly. 😋 Thank you for the great comparison video. Love to you both. 💜💜
He is right. But I find some favorite foods from my youth are just different now. Boxed mac and cheese, sweet snacks. There is just less flavor.
@@melissalambert7615 I agree. The thing about "beautiful" memories is that it may be best not to test them. I don't think I'd like Cup Noodles now as much as I did as a student. 😉

I always preferred the texture of the Maruchan cup noodles.
I prefer the texture of Cup Noodle compared to Maruchan or Top Ramen. Also my American taste, my favorite is Hot and Spicy Chicken Cup Noodle.
I agree. The korean nongshim might taste slightly better, but is not as readily available and has not a big verity as nissen
Memories become beautiful. What a lovely way to put that idea into words!
The variety is so much bigger in Asia and with so many interesting flavors you can't just buy outside of Asia. Another fun video !! ❤
OMG I LOBE INSTANT NOODLES SO MUCH! Making them got me interested in REAL cooking and a variety of new dishes and flavours! Also, thanks so much for wishing me a speedy recovery a few years ago when I commented about my dislocated knee.
That is one thing I love about Cup of Noodles, is the amount of toppings it has on it. Love my noodles with kimchi on the side!
Wow 23 years. What an inspiration!
Now I want to do my own cup noodles haul and run off into the sunset! 🌇 The classic flavours feel like coming home, but I want to try the miso one.
yes, 3 miso's in one bowl, wow.
"Chicken oil" instantly makes me think of New York delis and "schmaltz" (rendered chicken fat)

The thing I love about Cup Noodles is so many toppings especially the eggs.
Some of my other favorites are Shin Bone Broth and Mama Shrimp Tom Yum. 🍜😋
I didn’t realize there were so many varieties! Thanks for making this video.

I would love to see guys do a tier list video where you rank all the flavours.
I live in a small Dutch town with only supermarket-brand noodles, so your cup noodle brands look really fancy. When I am in a bigger city next time I will look for Nissin brand. My favourite taste is spicy chicken.
坦々がすごい好きだから、二人のリアクションが嬉しいです✨
My favourite Ramen would be anything with a Miso Base.
All the cup of noodles looked so good!!! I had to stop the video and make some
Love cup noodle thanks for sharing this video take care 😘😘❤️😍🥰🤩💯🌈🙏🌹🌹

You have to try Mama ramen. My favorite is the green curry one!
my favorite flavor is taka yaki flaovred with mayo/mustard sauce on it, you drain it, so i think its lo-main or something like that, i cant exactly remember, but i used to be obsessed with it. (dang it now i twant one)
I'm always excited to try new flavors of instant noodles. They are my comfort food.

I put tabasco and rice vinegar in the original shrimp one. Try it! it's so good!
Please have a contest of some kind 😊
Then tour the Cup Noodle Museum then make and eat the winners cup noodle creations.
Up to four winners I think. 🧐

the seafood cup noodle is our favorite flavor. something about it beats the curry and original every time.

My boyfriend and I liked the chili tomato and the original flavour.
But I'm sure the tomyum would be my favourite, if I got the chance to try it!
The original shrimp is my favorite. The rest looks really interesting. I have tried the seafood one and didn’t mind it.
I wish we had that many flavors to choose from! Unfortunately we don't have many choices here in Wyoming.
💛...would love to have the variety here...
That was a lot of noodles! And probably sodium. Fun video. Don't think I've ever had Cup o Noodles. In my lean years, ate a lot of spaghetti, eggs and peanut butter sandwiches.
My favorite Cup Noodle is the Cheese Curry. I love it so much!
Guys we need a top 20. I’m not sure the availability in the US or how many can be found on Amazon or other places. I would certainly order them.
A good pot noodle has kept me from starving more than a few times!
18:55 Show us Satoshi’s reactions! I demand it!

Looks so gud!

I need Cup Man!
Love the curry cheese too ,it was my favorite ❤❤❤. Since I can’t get it in State, will need to fly back to Japan to get it 😢

They don't have cat face printed under the lid anymore? saw Emmymade got those in her video since the new lid with double tabs resembled cat ears!
The curry flavor looks delicious 😋🤤 I'd love to taste it

My fav is Cheese Curry!!! Too bad I only find it in Japan and not in Italy 😢
My favorite instant noodle is Nongshim Shin Ramyun
Yum! I'm so hungry now!!
You got Yukgaejang flavor?? That's interesting. The original yukgaejang is a quiet spicy but not always, and ramen version of Yukgaejang is not spicy either here in Korea.
Babish just released a ramen taste text just a few hours before this. Now I know which noodles to pick!
There was cheese curry cup noodles in 2003 when I studied in Tokyo so not new
please try traditional Japanese sweets that you can purchase from department stores
I really enjoy the Samyang Carbonara Hot Chicken Ramen
Guys it's been such a long time, I missed you both. Hope you both are doing well ❤ getting married in December to my Pakistani fiancé ❤ I'm converting to Islam 😊

No maruchan midori tanuki soba ???
Are Cup Noodles from/ made in Japan?
Yes, Cup Noodles originated in Japan. I believe varieties shown in the video are also manufactured in Japan.
Cup Noodle sind nicht so mein Geschmack. Wobei ich dazu sagen muss dass ich nicht weiß, ob sie in Japan besser schmecken 👍🏼💯🥰

XO
Sorry, but this has to be sponsored by Nissin. Most of them are eatable, but Mmmmmm..... really?
To summarize all of it, why eat all these fake foods instant cup noodles, when you can eat the real thing?
i like those small bowls perfect size for taste testing
Yep, a lot of us have had cup of noodles during college years when we were flat broke :D
