Another twist is to lay out the motor tube for your fins and then glue and fillet into place. Once dry take your body tube and then razor cut the fin slots all the way out of the back. Insert the motor tube/fin/centering ring assembly into the body tube through the open slots and glue and fillet in place. This method will allow you to maximize internal support bonds.....= ) Edit....its also a good idea to have an old motor installed in the motor tube for extra support and alignment during assembly.
I use this technique all the time. For a three ring mount, smear glue in the tube for the forwardmost ring. Install with a removeable aft ring and let dry. Now smear glue in the tube and on the motor mount tube for the middle ring, and install it. Install through mount fins, fillet internally. I internally fillet to the body tube as well as the engine mount tube. Now glue the aft ring to the body and engine tubes. In this way, you are not shoving the forward most ring through the ring of glue that is meant for the second ring.
that Xylan Foxlin girl does something like doing all the filets on the inside, then she cuts the body tube and slides the tube over the completed motor mount. but when i did the Zepher last month i did it like in the instructions. thanks for all the videos
