i use the avermedia live gamer portable 2. you can use it to record and stream and it gives you the option to record to your pc hard drive or you can record onto a micro usb then transfer it later. you should look at doing a review on it. i'm definetly not dissapointed. great review as always keep it up

I have two questions about this device. 1. Will it work with an HDMI Switch Box? I only have one HDMI port on my TV, so I have my Cable Box, Blu-Ray Player, and Fire TV Stick connected to an HDMI Switch Box and that is connected to my TV. So, would I be able to go "HDMI Out" of the switch box, to "HDMI In" of the ClonerAlliance Box, and then "HDMI Out" of the ClonerAlliance Box to "HDMI In" of my TV. If I can do that, I would be able to use anything connected to the Switch Box as the Source going in to the ClonerAlliance Box. 2. Are the HDMI ports on the ClonerAlliance Box, pass-through ports? Suppose I only want to watch Cable (with the above setup from Question #1) and I don't want to record anything. To do that, would the ClonerAlliance Box still have to be powered on, or could it be off and still allow me to watch content, but obviously not record anything (unless I turned it on).
I'd love a more professional unit with internal recording. Also Scart and S-Video inputs. As that is the best quality output Super VHS and Hi 8 has. Playing them through composite cables means you handicap the resolution by half.
well I, My Dad, My Brother and my best friend has had one of these since 2017. We Record anything and everything, BUT we did notice we had to buy a cheap $30 HDMI switcher to bypass any HCDP. Thats so you can use your DVD, blu ray player hooked up to it, or any signal producing a HCDP signal. We all have those HDMI switchers installed, so we record ANYTHING we want, no matter what it is. I have about a 1 in 6 failure rate of a corrupt recording each to I try a long recording with it plus 90min, I have software that will correct the corrupted file. I find it easier to use fat32 with 2gb recorded files, more stable recordings and easier just to correct 1 - 2gb file than an entire 8 to 13gb single file using NTFS. I use a 128gb USB 3.0 Samsung flash drive. I have tried many of these and even though its not perfect its the most stable and trouble free on I have ever used. I only use it now 3-4x a year, but it works and records each time I need to. Its great when you buy a HD recording from Amazon prime and need a backup of it for your own records.
Can this work for recording shows while this is connected to a cable box? With my work hours I miss all of my shows. Is it easy to schedule a recording from a cable channel? Thanks!

Anything you can see on your tv you can record with this device. The HDMI cable going from your satellite receiver to your tv has to go to the input of the cloner box and the HDMI output of the cloner box goes to your tv. That way it will record what is stored on your dvr.
The recording time limit is dependent on how many TB or GB your USB flash drive or external HDD is that you connect to the USB 3.0 port of the clonerbox. I have this model and a 2 TB external HDD hooked up to mine and I have left the house leaving it recording came back 12 hours later and it was still recording movies form my cable tv box.
question - in your experience with this device, have you ever had the unit just stop and not allowing videos to be copied? My unit acts as if it is recording, but when checking after a recording is complete, there is nothing on the drive. I have tried 2 different flash drives and 2 different externals. Nothing is working. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Yes you can, I record from my cable box also. You just have to leave your cable box on and set it to record at a certain time and for how long. I can even set my cable box to change channels at certain times to different movies or shows .

No, obviously not. It has no concept of channels, it just records what you feed into it. Think of it like a digital VCR. You can set timers, but it can only record what it plays at the time.

My cloner box keeps blinking blue and green. And when it doesn't, I see a no signal. It's hooked up right. I'm using a firestick.. Any advise.
I should use this for future video transfers. DVD-R's are just too expensive these days and I can clean up the video files before going further.

Yes it can do that but you have to make sure the source is on the right channel.

You can schedule but you have to make sure the source signal is on the correct channel.

Anything you can see on your tv you can record with this device. The HDMI cable going from your satellite receiver to your tv has to go to the input of the cloner box and the HDMI output of the cloner box goes to your tv. That way it will record what is stored on your dvr.

Yes via the phone cable you can get phone to scart adapters.

Really bad recording box .. not smooth as it looks in this video .. the hardware so fragile .. recording failure for long durations (300 minutes)
