Yuri on the other hand, only seeks revenge and wants to break/kill. Both of them contradicts each other and thats why they always try to stop one another.
TK was a good guy who did bad things. Nanno was trying to teach him a lesson but knows he doesn't mean any harm. I agree though because I feel like he deserved a better ending.

I like to think that whenever Nanno transfers to another school, she goes to a different universe. Why? Knowing how many schools nanno has transfered to, and how many students she may have traumatized wouldn't one of them recognize her if they switched schools? atleast thats how I like to see it. However I'm on Season 2 Episode 3 and with Yuri im not 100% sure if thats the same case. But in the 1st season I definately believe that she switched universes

Im not partial to her, either, but she has a place in the series. It’s unfortunate Nanno shared immortality with a revenge hungry soul like Yuri. I think Nanno is karma personified. She gives people choices to explore. While she can cast doubt, manipulate, and mislead, this is actually just viewer perception of her motives and behavior. Yuri...had the opportunity for revenge on the girls who bullied her, and her blood lust should have ended there. While Yuri can be smart, she rushes her plan towards reliving her revenge vicariously through others. To me, Yuri is an annoying, real life version of an anime school girl focused on rage, murder, and vengeance. What makes Yuri even less likable is how she tries to replace Nano’s position, battles for power, and enlists Junko’s help for future killing sprees.
chicha said that her character is inspired by tomie, but the parallel between them i noticed is that tomie becomes more and more inhuman as the manga goes on, while nanno starts to feel more human. chicha also said that nanno is "the daughter of satan", but i think she said it somehow metaphorically.
Nanno has no interest in right or wrong, she thrives off of pain and sadness. That’s what I love about her. She is the embodiment of harsh reality and what horrible things people are capable of without even being forced to act it. As I watch I start to realize how real those situations are.
She really doesn't thrive off those, because in every episode of season one she laughs all crazy but didn't in the last 2-3 episodes before BFF part 2.
When I watched the first episode I thought she solves mysteries and gives people what they deserve wether it be death, endless torture and ect. I now realize that she is not human.

To me, I don't think Nanno is karma. (Maybe sometimes she can be, but that's depending on a situation) I think Nanno is simply a catalyst or motive sent to people to see how they react in certain situations, and then she punishes or awards them accordingly. With the addition of Yuri, i think Nanno is cause and Yuri is effect. Nanno puts the pieces in place, lets the mortals pick it up like some sort of trap and then Yuri is those mortals' punishment for taking Nanno's bait. It could also mean that the addition of Yuri wasn't Nanno's original plan either, even though we're never told or even hinted to that nanno might be trying to reach a final goal, i feel it's kind of implied with Yuri messing up nanno's schemes, or at least implied that Nanno doesn't want anyone else on the same pedestal as her on the playing field. The point I'm trying to get at is that the story is a lot deeper than just Nanno being a human manifestation of karma. Like Kitty straight up saying she's the daughter of satan, fans seeing that Nanno's real name is Mara, the picture of her eyes scratched out in S2e1, and the big bold text in red labeled 'SEE YOU SOON' was that Yuri? if so does that mean Yuri had power even before Nanno gave it to her? The 2-part episode with the high school reunion, implying that Nanno has been doing this since at least 1990's in earth time, NANNO'S DAUGHTER AND BABY DADDY THAT SHE ABANDONED /j no but seriously these are just some really small things that i think hint to a much deeper story than just an anthology series on karma and how thing's should be handled in the real world.
In the episode about the potential gang rape where she's raped and "killed" in season one the kids say sorry to her but only after they realize how powerful she is and to avoid her hurting them so it's not an actual apology. But they did say the word 'sorry' so yes, it was said to her in season one...even if it doesn't really count.
Nanno is basically living Karma, She's a hell spawn who is immortal sent to punish/give people a taste of their own medicine. Yuri, came later on as living Vengeance. Basically Yuri is impatient and ruthless, harming directly while Nanno lets the target ruin their own life if they continue their wrong doings. Yuri and Nanno are polar opposites with same jobs
i think Nanno draws parallel from Enma Ai from the anime "Hell Girl" who also exposes people's twisted desires and by the end of the episode, the people they meet get what they deserve be it bad or good.
I personally think the boy who ate the ice cream will also become a demon like nanno. but I don’t think he’ll pop up till season 4. I think in the show, yuri in junko will have their own season. I think yuri and junko represent vengeance. so maybe the boy who ate the ice cream will represent reason like the voice of reason

ah i actually don’t like horror thriller kinda things but this series was absolutely amazing. i loved it so much, i love nanno like i’m literally in love with her and i really can’t wait for the third season!! i‘m dying to know how all this continues.
I love this series so much! I love the way it represents justice and karma. It also shows that the guilty are also sometimes the victims. I also like how Nanno basically doesnt kill anyone, but encourages people to get whta they desire. My only with it is the whoele Yuri thing, i think they couldve gone more nto detail about the wole Nanno saving Yuri so now Yuri views her as her mother. Overall i absolutely love this series and hope s3 comes soon 😁
Girl From Nowhere especially Nanno and Yuri is an eye opener about the difference between KARMA and REVENGE when we add Junko there's also a HATRED so they represent it all according to fans, and about the lessons I agree as Nanno said every actions has a consequence, I really love Girl From Nowhere and I'm still waiting for Season 3 I really hope for Season 3 and I love your review about this series, it's worth to watch and recommend❤️
Nanno is known for holding revenge on people who deserve it aka karma… but it’s not that simple she made a deal with the devil to have these powers Nanno wanted to kill without being caught so she made the deal but she could only kill on people whom deserve it. And she does have emotions they can be seen when she sees families she is either jealous and wanting to experience love or was born into a family (although being the daughter of satan) who aren’t her real family and when nanno is seen showing these behaviours she was abandoned and she wants them back or when she made the deal she was tricked into leaving them.

Without spoiling anything, Nanno can not interfere, she can only encourage. So at the end the interference was the last straw. She is not suppose to feel, because feelings make her mortal and so, because she showed to much emotion, the events that happened were her reckoning.

If she did that on purpose why is she doubting on Ep.7 and she was shocked when she saved the mother and the daughter? You can see that in her eyes that she didn’t expect it.
I just dont get it the first 3 episodes she goes after people that are clearly preying on people and doing crazy shit. But the 4th episode threw me for a loop???? Like she basically victimized a kid who really didnt do anything wrong just didnt want people to know he had nothing to his name besides some watermelon and water. His friends were the horrible ones. Idk it just made no sense to me she could clearly have preyed on them instead but chose the one who was just existing.
Technically he cared more about his reputation and dumb schoolmates who liked him only for his supposed wealth, than he cared for the parents who raised him with hard honest work to give him a better life. The boy clearly heard his parents talking how they have debts and might even get hurt or get beaten by the creditors, yet he still stole all of their money to pay for a useless whim he didn't even had to pull off.
He got what he deserved. He valued his self image more than his parent's effort in order to raise him despite being on the poorer end. Seeing his parents get hurt by his silly rich friends ought to sort out that sickly mindset of his. friends come and go, but family remains.

I write a fantasy series with a similar character, someone who gives people the ability to do what bad thing they want, so when this popped up on my radar, I decided to give it a look and I love it. Just started with the series so haven't gotten into the complications you mention yet, but am very curious to see where it goes. I like that this is a Thai series so I get to see another culture's rules and weaknesses. I understand this is a huge hit across southeast Asia and has struck a nerve, similar to what "Battle Royale" did in Japan. Anyway, great show, great review. Am curious how long it's going to take for the US rights to get snapped up for an English version. My guess is, not long...
3:55 There's some people she punished actually said sorry to her in the 1st Season tho. Such as in Episode 7 (Wonderwall Part 2) and 2 (Apologies) but this Ep 2 was not a sincere one. They keep saying sorry but still repeating their wrongdoings. Dunno if there's more in the other Eps but yeah.

Many people think that Nanno is karma or represents karma. That is wrong. Pretend there's a bridge; there's water flowing under it. Two people are standing on that bridge, one standing behind the other. Nanno is behind the other person, who represents her victim. Nanno's job is to push that person off the bridge into the water, which is karma. Depending on the victim, they get out of the river or drown in the consequences of their actions.

Hi! During the 1st season the plot was the same in all the 13 episodes (it was Nanno giving Karma to people just like what you've watched). But on the 2nd season, it was a bit different I guess. It will get you more excited. A lot of questions will run in your mind. In my opinion and perspective, I love this type of series. Try watching it up to the next season :) Maybe you'll change your mind. But if you don't like this type of series, it's okay not to finish it :)

Good idea to summarize it at the end (for example the message that weak people would use their power if they had it), but we like the second season better. It had such a strong start and it was bloody too! Of course there are still episodes who we liked more than others. I noticed in one episode showing nano real name, i am not thai so i heard before that thai people have long name thats why they have pet name so i didnt care about it, later in one of you tube comment some body notice her real name and discovered that in buddha their is demon who have 3 beautiful daugthers one of them is karma which is nano, second yuri i dont know what she represnt with her third sister 😮.

Im not partial to her, either, but she has a place in the series. It’s unfortunate Nanno shared immortality with a revenge hungry soul like Yuri.
I think Nanno is karma personified. She gives people choices to explore. While she can cast doubt, manipulate, and mislead, this is actually just viewer perception of her motives and behavior.
Yuri...had the opportunity for revenge on the girls who bullied her, and her blood lust should have ended there. While Yuri can be smart, she rushes her plan towards reliving her revenge vicariously through others. To me, Yuri is an annoying, real life version of an anime school girl focused on rage, murder, and vengeance. What makes Yuri even less likable is how she tries to replace Nano’s position, battles for power, and enlists Junko’s help for future killing sprees.

chicha said that her character is inspired by tomie, but the parallel between them i noticed is that tomie becomes more and more inhuman as the manga goes on, while nanno starts to feel more human.
chicha also said that nanno is "the daughter of satan", but i think she said it somehow metaphorically.

Nanno has no interest in right or wrong, she thrives off of pain and sadness. That’s what I love about her. She is the embodiment of harsh reality and what horrible things people are capable of without even being forced to act it. As I watch I start to realize how real those situations are.

She really doesn't thrive off those, because in every episode of season one she laughs all crazy but didn't in the last 2-3 episodes before BFF part 2.

To me, I don't think Nanno is karma. (Maybe sometimes she can be, but that's depending on a situation) I think Nanno is simply a catalyst or motive sent to people to see how they react in certain situations, and then she punishes or awards them accordingly. With the addition of Yuri, i think Nanno is cause and Yuri is effect. Nanno puts the pieces in place, lets the mortals pick it up like some sort of trap and then Yuri is those mortals' punishment for taking Nanno's bait.
It could also mean that the addition of Yuri wasn't Nanno's original plan either, even though we're never told or even hinted to that nanno might be trying to reach a final goal, i feel it's kind of implied with Yuri messing up nanno's schemes, or at least implied that Nanno doesn't want anyone else on the same pedestal as her on the playing field. The point I'm trying to get at is that the story is a lot deeper than just Nanno being a human manifestation of karma. Like Kitty straight up saying she's the daughter of satan, fans seeing that Nanno's real name is Mara, the picture of her eyes scratched out in S2e1, and the big bold text in red labeled 'SEE YOU SOON' was that Yuri? if so does that mean Yuri had power even before Nanno gave it to her? The 2-part episode with the high school reunion, implying that Nanno has been doing this since at least 1990's in earth time, NANNO'S DAUGHTER AND BABY DADDY THAT SHE ABANDONED /j no but seriously these are just some really small things that i think hint to a much deeper story than just an anthology series on karma and how thing's should be handled in the real world.

Yuri already had power prior to S2s1, as you watch more, Yuri says, “We meet again”
In the episode about the potential gang rape where she's raped and "killed" in season one the kids say sorry to her but only after they realize how powerful she is and to avoid her hurting them so it's not an actual apology. But they did say the word 'sorry' so yes, it was said to her in season one...even if it doesn't really count.
Nanno is basically living Karma, She's a hell spawn who is immortal sent to punish/give people a taste of their own medicine. Yuri, came later on as living Vengeance. Basically Yuri is impatient and ruthless, harming directly while Nanno lets the target ruin their own life if they continue their wrong doings. Yuri and Nanno are polar opposites with same jobs
i think Nanno draws parallel from Enma Ai from the anime "Hell Girl" who also exposes people's twisted desires and by the end of the episode, the people they meet get what they deserve be it bad or good.
This is what I realized, she sorta of a match of Tomie and Ai Enma
I personally think the boy who ate the ice cream will also become a demon like nanno. but I don’t think he’ll pop up till season 4. I think in the show, yuri in junko will have their own season. I think yuri and junko represent vengeance. so maybe the boy who ate the ice cream will represent reason like the voice of reason

ah i actually don’t like horror thriller kinda things but this series was absolutely amazing. i loved it so much, i love nanno like i’m literally in love with her and i really can’t wait for the third season!! i‘m dying to know how all this continues.
I love this series so much! I love the way it represents justice and karma. It also shows that the guilty are also sometimes the victims. I also like how Nanno basically doesnt kill anyone, but encourages people to get whta they desire. My only with it is the whoele Yuri thing, i think they couldve gone more nto detail about the wole Nanno saving Yuri so now Yuri views her as her mother. Overall i absolutely love this series and hope s3 comes soon 😁
Girl From Nowhere especially Nanno and Yuri is an eye opener about the difference between KARMA and REVENGE when we add Junko there's also a HATRED so they represent it all according to fans, and about the lessons I agree as Nanno said every actions has a consequence, I really love Girl From Nowhere and I'm still waiting for Season 3 I really hope for Season 3 and I love your review about this series, it's worth to watch and recommend❤️

but it’s not that simple she made a deal with the devil to have these powers
Nanno wanted to kill without being caught so she made the deal but she could only kill on people whom deserve it.
And she does have emotions they can be seen when she sees families she is either jealous and wanting to experience love or was born into a family (although being the daughter of satan) who aren’t her real family and when nanno is seen showing these behaviours she was abandoned and she wants them back or when she made the deal she was tricked into leaving them.
I am still confused one what happened in season 2. Cant wait for season 3 and get some answers

Without spoiling anything, Nanno can not interfere, she can only encourage. So at the end the interference was the last straw. She is not suppose to feel, because feelings make her mortal and so, because she showed to much emotion, the events that happened were her reckoning.

If she did that on purpose why is she doubting on Ep.7 and she was shocked when she saved the mother and the daughter? You can see that in her eyes that she didn’t expect it.

I just dont get it the first 3 episodes she goes after people that are clearly preying on people and doing crazy shit. But the 4th episode threw me for a loop???? Like she basically victimized a kid who really didnt do anything wrong just didnt want people to know he had nothing to his name besides some watermelon and water. His friends were the horrible ones. Idk it just made no sense to me she could clearly have preyed on them instead but chose the one who was just existing.

Technically he cared more about his reputation and dumb schoolmates who liked him only for his supposed wealth, than he cared for the parents who raised him with hard honest work to give him a better life. The boy clearly heard his parents talking how they have debts and might even get hurt or get beaten by the creditors, yet he still stole all of their money to pay for a useless whim he didn't even had to pull off.
He got what he deserved. He valued his self image more than his parent's effort in order to raise him despite being on the poorer end. Seeing his parents get hurt by his silly rich friends ought to sort out that sickly mindset of his. friends come and go, but family remains.
He did act like rich people are more valuable by pretending to be one of em

I write a fantasy series with a similar character, someone who gives people the ability to do what bad thing they want, so when this popped up on my radar, I decided to give it a look and I love it. Just started with the series so haven't gotten into the complications you mention yet, but am very curious to see where it goes. I like that this is a Thai series so I get to see another culture's rules and weaknesses. I understand this is a huge hit across southeast Asia and has struck a nerve, similar to what "Battle Royale" did in Japan. Anyway, great show, great review. Am curious how long it's going to take for the US rights to get snapped up for an English version. My guess is, not long...

3:55 There's some people she punished actually said sorry to her in the 1st Season tho. Such as in Episode 7 (Wonderwall Part 2) and 2 (Apologies) but this Ep 2 was not a sincere one. They keep saying sorry but still repeating their wrongdoings. Dunno if there's more in the other Eps but yeah.

Many people think that Nanno is karma or represents karma. That is wrong. Pretend there's a bridge; there's water flowing under it. Two people are standing on that bridge, one standing behind the other. Nanno is behind the other person, who represents her victim. Nanno's job is to push that person off the bridge into the water, which is karma. Depending on the victim, they get out of the river or drown in the consequences of their actions.
Off topic but after I finished watching s2 I start having dreaming like nanno and yuri wanted to kill me and these same dream actually happened like 2 days

Thailand is such a beautiful country, you list the values that are in a single show, that the show has within it ideas and teachings of karma. Such a beautiful culture, some day Thai people could take over the world I think with entertainment like Korea did.

My friend and me started watching this series (season one) and after four episodes we don't like it anymore. The first two eps were fine, but then it went kinda downhill. Without spoilers, is it gonna get better in the next episode/ episodes, or can we skip something?
Hi! During the 1st season the plot was the same in all the 13 episodes (it was Nanno giving Karma to people just like what you've watched). But on the 2nd season, it was a bit different I guess. It will get you more excited. A lot of questions will run in your mind. In my opinion and perspective, I love this type of series. Try watching it up to the next season :) Maybe you'll change your mind. But if you don't like this type of series, it's okay not to finish it :)

Good idea to summarize it at the end (for example the message that weak people would use their power if they had it), but we like the second season better. It had such a strong start and it was bloody too! Of course there are still episodes who we liked more than others.

I noticed in one episode showing nano real name, i am not thai so i heard before that thai people have long name thats why they have pet name so i didnt care about it, later in one of you tube comment some body notice her real name and discovered that in buddha their is demon who have 3 beautiful daugthers one of them is karma which is nano, second yuri i dont know what she represnt with her third sister 😮.
