Huh, wasn't aware it was possible to take apart a Vortex motor. Neat! Also, how do you manage to repack bearings without it sounding like crap? Whenever I try to do it (using the same Mobil blue grease), the bearings always end up sounding worse. Could it be the cheap Chinese bearings themselves?
Great Video.. when turn ony Miele vacuum cleaner it makes a very annoying screeching sound, especially on low speed. Would the bearings need replacement?
What are the specs of the washer under the commutator bearing? On this one the bearing and the spacer washer is gone, I need to replace that too. Mostly outer diameter and thickness is the question, I guess it was aluminium as it had some alu pieces inside apart from the bearing parts. (Also you are taking apart an almost brand new motor, it is a bit weird...)
Why not replace the bearings after all of that disassembly. I may do this to my Miele simply because of age but it is cosmetically and functionally like new and I do not want to break anything. The more you tear it down the better chance something breaks. The polyurea grease is a good idea.
As noted in the video, these bearings were not heavily worn. No need to replace, just regrease. Unless bearings are damaged, they can last for decades. I've regreased bearings up to 30 years old with zero issues.

Yes, i use a very fine jewelers screwdriver. Done this in many videos. Search Kirby Diamond Edition.

If the bearings have significant damage, they should be replaced, not repacked.

A brand new motor? Hardly. It's dated 02/2012, so about 9 years old in this video. And head over to partswarehouse.com for complete exploded diagrams.

Does the shaft nut have right hand threads or left hand threads?
Fan threads are usually opposite of normal threads.
Can you do suction and airflow tests with the newly serviced machine?

You can make one yourself. I made one years ago from an old extension cord.
