- Sincere apologies for the re-upload guys and girls, however I truly wasn't happy with how bass heavy the drums were, so I've adjusted for your audible pleasure.
You guys have asked for this, and so here it is!
Listening closely to the original demo for Human Nature by Steve Porcaro, I've carefully recreated the synths using my Yamaha Tyros 5 (sadly not as authentic as a CS-80, but hopefully this sounds very familiar to you all!).
#StevePorcaro wrote it, #MichaelJackson perfected it.

That is so Spiritual, I don't know what it is about this song that I'm so obsessed with it. It's just the history about it. it's overall my favorite of all the time and it's so amazing this almost didn't make it on the album. I love hearing the behind the scenes story about this. I've read song stories but none has more interesting than this one, the last 15 seconds is takes me to another zone of this version. great video thank you a 1000 times over

True, but so much is already there in the demo... From Steve Pocaro's creative Genius (& David Paich's contribution) & then Quincy's Ear & Vision...Enter John Betts, incredile Top Line & lyric ... Steve Lukather, insanity at its finest on this one (a true showcase of his incomaprable Session Muscianship for sure). The entire Toto Fam couldn't be more understated at times (More-so to the general Public, the musicians know for sure.. The same could be said on 'Beat It')... The of course, once MJ then adds his MiJac, then off to the Stratosphere to Heavens Nature where this one will permanently reside ... *Can't forget Bruce Swediens Foundations & Sprinkles ...

How did you feel when you heard the final product? This is awesome
It depends on what you regard the finished product to be. I first heard Human Nature in 2003 and immediately knew this is what real music was all about. But to hear the demo, the foundations of what made music make sense to me, I was thankful. How did you feel?

Answer: Because that guy is named: Steve Porcaro and is the one who produced the song for MJ so YES he deserve's all credit too.

Bad is mostly a Michael Jackson production. On Thriller the song Michael wrote (Wanna Be Starin' Somethin', Beat It, Billie Jean, The Girl Is Mine) were also mostly Michael Jackson's productions. Same on Off The Wall (with Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough, Workin' Day And Night and Get On The Floor, although I think it's more like a 50/50 between him and Quincy Jones).
And saying that Michael could't play any instruments is just being delusional.
Michael only "needed" Quincy Jones for Off The Wall.
Notice how most of Michael's greatest hits on OTW, Thriller and Bad are also produced by Michael himself ? The only two songs that REALLY worked with Quincy as a producer are Rock With You and Thriller. The rest, compared to the songs Michael produced, is nothing.
And saying Michael wasn't a songwriter is one of the dumbest things I've heard in a while. Michael wrote songs and poems way superior lyrically than Human Nature.

@@RebornAudio hey there friend, well technically the lyrics were written by John Bettis… but I actually meant who wrote the lead melodic line not present on the demo
@a-1151 I am. A fool. You’re absolutely right, of course it was John Bettis. It’s been a long day! The melodic line is technically all there, as it was the Rhodes (Steve Porcaro himself) that followed the melody. The guitar was all Steve Lukather, David Paich on synths.

@a-1151 It’s nice to meet fellow fan my friend! That would be a perfect blend of both Paich and Porcaro, Porcaro syncopating the Rhodes, Paich playing the strings and synths to accompany. Just Toto doing what they do best!

So, believe it or not, the Rhodes keyboards you hear throughout this entire mix are actually from the version of Human Nature released on the Thriller album, and the section you hear is usually drowned out by the synths, bass, vocals and so on (have a listen to the original when you get a chance and you’ll be able to make them out now you know that! 😊) - all I’ve done is pitch shifted these keyboards down from D to C, the original key Steve Porcaro played them on his demo, but it is actually me playing the synths/string sounds you hear throughout. Sorry for the long reply, I could speak about this song all day! 😊
@@RebornAudio didn't even know there was a Rhodes part. Thought CS80 was used for the main synth lines and Jupiter 8 for the sequence during the intro, falsetto parts and outro, so in reality (on the album version) it's Rhodes- main melody, CS80- background strings and Jupiter 8 as I predicted?
tsangpogorge Yup that’s correct - the best sound in the original to me is the CS-80 glide within the intro, middle and outro which sounds like a siren bringing the song to life (as in the portamento sound which ascends) - honestly that sound alone made me fall in love with this song
@@RebornAudio same at first the thing I love was michaels vocal high notes in the middle and end of the song then it was just then it switched to the classic synths at the beginning , middle , and the end, and finally it switched to the synth glide being my favorite
