Glad to see Martin and Alan hugging each other and making amends, I know their relationship was on the rocks during the last few years of Alan's tenure with the band.
Martin is a very shy guy, and in this clip, he was probably with his own security guard, surrounded by people paying more attention to him than to Alan. But for those who thought he was gonna ignore Alan, consider this: he was at Alan's gig, so it's not like he didn't care about him anymore. He's not a very affectionate guy. I've noticed from his interactions with Dave on stage, and with the band in general, that he's more comfortable with handshakes and high-fives, and he doesn't like people making a fuss over him.

True! Pay him heaps of money, make sure he is appreciated for his work. It would be amazing. The latest album sounds like a collection of demos. But honestly, I don't think it's ever going to happen.

After meeting Alan in San Diego Saturday afternoon at the San Diego record store meet and greet he asked if I was coming to the Santa Ana show , I told him I already had tix for the San Diego and Santa Ana performances that's me in the video getting the photo taken with Alan and Martin. Truly Amazing! Thanks jen in san diego!
@@patee101 There was an interview with Dave, Andy, and Martin back during Ultra and Andy was the one who alluded to Alan's statement, saying that he thought that Alan was saying that they couldn't make it without him. Martin said in the same interview that Alan had been an important part of the band. If Martin has any hard feelings, I think it was because he left them (Martin) to deal with Ultra and Dave's death and all of that. Also, he wasn't there when Martin was having his troubles and he even talked to a stranger about Martin not drinking anymore, which I don't think was for him to say. So, I'm not too surprised by the handshake.
@@sorryimnothomerightnow nah it’s all blown out of proportion. the whole band was going through so much during SOFAD album. The key was Dave’s condition. Alan and Dave was very close and when Dave’s drug addiction left Alan alone making that album it really killed the joy of making music for Alan.
This is just the diplomatic side. The three remaining members of DM are making a huge fortune off of Alan Wilder's work. It's a disgrace that they haven't invited him back into the fold.

Can you, please, explain what you meant saying that Dave was always Alan's issue? As far as I know Dave was the only DM member who was in touch with Alan during all these years
@ShelleShelleKitty Around 1:40am, after both performed and while DJ Daniel Barass was DJ'ing. I was one of lucky ones I guess. They were only picking girls (4 at a time) before allowing other people to meet and greet. My buddy and I stood in line about 1:20am and there were only 4 people in front of us. We got in the backstage just in time to record the moment, didn't have time to get an autograph nor picture from Martin, but I'm not complaining.
I know you all saw the equipment Alan was bidding off. That Emax II i would kill for...especially with all those sounds already loaded in it :) But Alan and Martin and you know Daniel have been talking. Martin is supposed to start writing again at the end of this year, if he already hasn't start writing. But its my opinion that with or without Alan the next DM album will be the last just because of all the issues Dave has going on. But lets hope not. I want Alan and Flood back for the album.

I think the same....be sure that alan will rejoin Depeche mode for the new album...i personally think that the release will be in the 1 june 2012 - alan s birthday - That could be the greatest news since more then 15 years.... i feel a lot of respect and regret on their closing brace....i m sure they will work all togheter cause recoil project are done and classified with selected.....the futur will tell us more

I find it surprising to find the two embracing. They never had much of a relationship. And Martin and Andy seemed to badmouth him when he left.

Martin is supposed to start writing again at the end of this year, if he already hasn't start writing.
