To answer your thought about shuckle making rare candies, he can. After you give him the berry and he makes berry juice, eventually that'll turn into an rare candy. Very time consuming. Don't know if it's worth it though.

*YO! HELLO AND WELCOME TO ANOTHER AMAZING DAY OF POKÉMON! LET'S GET THINGS STARTED!* ^_^
I am so excited to see what happens once the Power Plant is fixed! ^_^
I can't wait to try to ride the maglev train! ^_^
However, that will have to wait, so today I started things off by getting into a battle with a Hiker named Sidney who started things off by sending out his Dugtrio so I decided to let Arthur show why he's the king! ^_^
Sidney then sent out his Onix so I decided to let Arthur take Round Two! ^_^
Then I found a nearby hidden Ether! YAY! ^_^
#BURIEDTREASURE!
Then I was challenged by a Camper named Dean who started things off by sending out his Golduck so I decided to let Arthur play with this foreseeing fowl! ^_^
Dean then sent out his Sandslash so I decided to let Arthur take Round Two! ^_^
Then I was challenged by a Hiker named Tim who started things off by sending out his Graveler so I decided to let Arthur hang ten! ^_^
As a result of this battle, Arthur grew to Level 42! YAY! ^_^

Tim then sent out his second and third Gravelers but Arthur was content to hang ten all day! ^_^
Then I was challenged by a Picnicker named Edna who started things off by sending out her Nidorina so I decided to let Arthur show why King beats Queen (think Chess)! ^_^
However, when Edna sent out her Raichu, I decided to let Pooh play with this metamorphosed mascot! ^_^
Then I was challenged by a Camper named Sid who started things off by sending out his Dugtrio so I decided to let Arthur play with this Twisted Rancor Trio! (Props to those who get that joke!) ^_^
Sid then sent out his Primeape so I decided to let Tuix play with this fearsome fighter! ^_^
Sid then sent out his Poliwrath so I decided to let Tuix play with this frog-like foe! ^_^
Then I went into Cerulean City where I discovered the Gym to be deserted! Though I hear that its leader, Misty, is out on a date! ^_^
While there, I literally ran into a very strange man who told me to forget even seeing him but of course since I'm writing it here in my diary, that's going to be difficult! XD
Especially after defeating him in a battle against his Golbat via my Arthur! ^_^
As a result of that victory, he told me that the machine part I've been looking for is at the Gym so back I went to locate it! ^_^
I quickly went to the Power Plant where I gave the machine part to the respective owner! ^_^
As a reward, I was given the TM07 - Zap Cannon - for helping! ^_^
Then I went back to the Radio Tower where I learned that it was working again so the director there gave me an Expansion Card for my PokéGear! ^_^ Now I can use its radio to - among other things - play the PokéFlute in case Pokémon fall asleep! ^_^
However, when I went to go ride the rails, I was denied because I don't have a pass. So I spoke with the Copycat who said that if I can find her missing Clefairy Doll, she'll give me a rail pass. Ergo, I went back to Vermilion where I found the man who had stolen her doll and so I returned it to her in exchange for the rail pass! ^_^
#RIDINGTHERAILS!
Then I went back to Goldenrod City where I spoke to a man who told me that if I give him 4000PKC, he will teach my Pokémon a neat move! ^_^
So I flew back home where I withdrew the requisite funds! ^_^
#HOMEAGAIN
As a result of my newfound skills, I was able to teach Arthur how to use the Ice Beam technique! ^_^

That's enough for today's adventure but I'm looking forward to tomorrow's adventure! ^_^

yes the gen 2 music is stil to this day my fave pokemon music its one of the reasons i dont like HG/SS that you cant listen to the orginal music until you are pretty much finished with the game to get the gb player
