I'm sorry, I have to push back a bit. Like Crazy had everything to get major radio spins and it got NOTHING for how popular it was in streams and sales. Also, "payola" is illegal, but that just means that deals work with 3rd party brokers taking payment. Lastly, with the consolidation of radio, if you're not with a western label or have someone on the inside pushing heavy for you to be played, you won't be. The treatment we'll see with Like Crazy vs Seven (and this is NO HATE to either Jimin nor Jungkook) puts all of this into stark perspective. By every metric, Like Crazy SHOULD have gotten more spins. It didn't because BTS isn't signed to a western label, they didn't have a big exec in the background pushing it, and they didn't pay 3rd party brokers.
Also, again, this is no hate to you or anyone else. I'm a subscriber and LOVE your channel.
Not sure how you can define anything “should have more spins,” is there a rule that says a popular song has to be played on the radio? Lol big difference with like crazy and seven which makes all the difference in the world is where it came from. Like crazy came from the same production team of all BTS songs… seven came from hybe US , huge western producer on it…. It was a song sent to BTS and JK wanted to do it… but radio is a bit of the same as the Grammy situation. If they don’t have their hand in the pockets of artists and companies than they’re not going to win. Jungkook has the best pop vocal on the game… the song of this is very American pop sound… like dynamite which is one of the biggest radio hits for BTS made it onto radio bc the song didn’t come from the bighit producers… this was a song that came from hybe US…. Just like Seven did…. Same with butter … ptd probably would have but the sound is less appealing commercially… all this stuff factors in…. And where the song comes from is extremely important
@@blarmy827 Yes, radio used to have some semblance of playing "hot" tracks that reflected what was requested and popular. The consolidation of radio has made it so that you have a situation like Like Crazy having huge demand but near zero radio spins.

I'm sure others have already mentioned how the song's message is about consent - specifically, how it is affirmative consent when it comes to relations and intimacy. What I think is also really cools is how the lyrics are more or less gender neutral and sexuality neutral, with the message thus working every way without assuming or implying the speaker or listener's gender. Everything is more or less metaphorical and hence doesn't objectify the person (i.e. it doesn't comment about their body, appearance, clothing, etc). CONGRATULATIONS GODDESSES FOR THE WORK OF ART.
I agree, they definitely set this up for some MUCH-DESERVED radio play. However, my cynical ass doesn't see that happening. "Like Crazy" was set up for radio play, but did we get any? No.
But hey, I'll be happy to be proven wrong. It does help that a Western artist collaborated with JK, I think.

while watching a reaction to this song video and reading it's comment section, realizing there is an explicit version and gotta check it out. so here I am and checking it out. well it is still kind of taboo to have curse words in lyrics for Kpop songs. it also changes how people think of this song when hearing the curse words in it.
BTS isn’t K-pop…. And it’s literally the reason they are who they are and where they are lol there are plenty of K-pop songs that are talking about sex .. there are some with cursing in them… only small minded ppl are going to take such a small part and dramatize it. This song isn’t being marketed like K-pop songs are… he’s not going on a music show stage to debut … it’s all in English … jungkook is one of the top pop vocalists in the game… he’s a grown man who should be allowed to say whatever he wants to express himself for whatever reason. Jungkook has a full sleeve of tattoos, facial piercings and goes live when he wants to even if he’s not supposed to. We love jungkook for daring to be different.. daring to be himself and the ones who love him really will support that.

1,yes, this song looks to be aiming at the international market if not mistaken.
2, BTS is a part of Kpop but has already been gone global. they are being treated and seen more as a global music group/singers.
3, i am fine with having curse words in lyrics for any songs. not a problem at all. zero. however IMO it may still be a bit conservative in Korea when it comes to explicit content in kpop/muisc. so if still really wanna say it, say it discretely. just saying, could be all wrong.
4, Jungkook is free as a bird when it comes to his music and life. no questions about it.
5, BTW this is a bop and expected to very well on charts (hot 100) and views (TH-cam).

I say this with a ton of love because I adore Jungkook and all of BTS - but I really dislike the MV. I intensely dislike any narrative where a guy is chasing around an uninterested girl and then in the end, she gives in. I don't find it cute or funny or romantic in the slightest and I'm pretty disappointed they went there. Imagine if the video were gender-swapped and she was pursuing him like that? The Twitterverse interpretation would be pretty different, I'm guessing.
The song itself is okay. It's catchy and fun. I'm not the kind of person that reacts strongly to innuendo or super sexual lyrics so I can't participate in the meltdowns haha, but I guess JK wants to make sure we know he's a whole grown man now. Fair enough. I'm glad it's doing so well on the charts. We'll see what he does next.

this weekend, there are so many great songs being released from Kpop. no doubt Jungkook's Seven is probably the most anticipated one. however there are other great ones as well. among them I strongly recommend you to check out at least 2 songs, (G)I-dile 'I Do' sung in full English and Misamo (Twice Jap-line sub-unit) 'Do Not Touch'. I dare you to love these 2 songs/MV very much once you watch/hear them. if possible, do react to them as well and I will be back to check it out when done so. BTW nice reaction ans pretty as usual.
