I’ve watched this keynote more times than I can count. Watching it from the perspective of an audience member in the crowd was such an enjoyable perspective. Thank you for sharing this!
Same! I’ve watched this keynote so many times throughout the years, this is the first time I’ve seen it from the perspective of an audience member. Loved it.
Before iphone, touchscreen were resistive. You needed to press the screen to work. And didn't allowed more than 1 touch without some hack making it more expensive. So it was indeed impressive.
Insane how at 5:32 the dude next to him literally says "That's gotta be photoshopped" reacting to the slide-to-unlock part. Hard to really capture how revolutionary and futuristic this technology was for it's time, and this video serves to gives us one of the very few raw reactions.
I’ve watched the “official” video so many times, but this was so wonderful to experience. The genuine wonder and joy at Slide-to-Unlock and scrolling….makes you appreciate how much we take for granted today. Loved when someone said “it looks photoshopped!” Haha. What an historic event!
The century really. This product made Apple the most valuable company in the world. This product is the product that made every tech company copy and make their own version of. Everyone in the world is holding some sort of smartphone - a phone with a large touchscreen with apps and internet capability. This is the invention of a lifetime and it’s transformed society and the world like no other and has made trillions of dollars for companies not just Apple. It’s fucking crazy how ahead Steve Jobs was. *sorry for the ramble it’s late at night LOL*
@@vgudif steve jobs were still here apple would’ve been in a different direction. imagine what he would’ve done. he was ahead of his time and truly a creative genius.
That’s amazing that everything we take as granted today (screen, touch, gestures) was groundbreaking back then. And the fact, that I’m watching this right now on iPhone…
i’ve seen the keynote announcement a million times, but seeing this from-the-audience POV is incredible! thank you for capturing this iconic and revolutionary moment in technology history!!
I understand the excitement around the "slide to unlock part". Even phones that had a touch screens (resistive at the time) didn't know what a user "sliding" was, you had to do these really hard presses to register any action on the touch screens of the time.
At this time I had a samsung slide phone, and slightly after this I got my first (what I thought was) smart phone, the Nokia E63. Frankly it kinda sucked compared to any iPhone or android device that came afterwards.
Ive watched the actual keynote more times than I care to admit 🤣 but seeing it from this perspective and getting the genuine reaction of people who were there live...fantastic, thank you so much for filming this. Im not the biggest iPhone lover these days but there is no doubt this event goes down in history as one of the biggest and most influential in to what we all carry in our pockets today, android or iPhone. The crowd being so amazed by the slide to unlock and scrolling really made me chuckle! 🤣 crazy how far we've come and how much higher our expectations are!
I wish you had recorded your reaction to Steve zooming in on the picture, or "the pinch." I can't imagine what that must have been like for you. But anyways, this is amazing. You got to witness the future happen right in front of your eyes. I was only 5 years old when this happened. What I wouldn't give to have been in that room and witness the future.
Some of the best quality I’ve ever seen of this event! I love how you thought it was so crazy how they did the gestures. It’s a comparable event to the Wright Brothers Flyer in 1903 as it’s a significant event changing history forever! Legend!!
I remember watching this live. It was unreal seeing an all screen phone that you interacted with your finger. The wow at the scrolling was justified. It really was that revolutionary compared to PDA's and mobile phones at the time
Yeah it’s virtually nonexistent of any videos in a perspective point of view of this event. Very rare indeed. Consider yourself a lucky one for this factor. Many people dreamed to be here at this time. I was in Elementary school when this happened & was baffled by it even as a kid.
Gracias por compartir un momento historico desde la perspectiva de la audiencia! Que afortunado eres de haberlo presenciado. Te envidio! Si yo tuviese una máquina del tiempo, este sería uno de los momentos históricos que visitaría haha
I always had the feeling that I sensed something special in this room. An uncanny variety of emotions. As if the people who had gathered that day knew they were witnessing something extraordinary that had the potential to change the world. In any case, the audience had a better gut feeling than Steve Ballmer, that's for sure. This keynote is one of my top 5 TH-cam videos ever. Thank you for sharing! That was awesome.
T9 was awesome and definitely had its advantages, but also some drawbacks. As soon as I got my first smartphone, I lamented the loss of the buttons. I didn't like the built in qwerty keyboard and whatever I wrote required so much more precision and careful review after only five words so as not to have errors. Autocorrect is and definitely was a shot in the dark most of the times, so I discovered Swype and have used it every day since October 2012. I haven't seen any other keyboard I can accept, not even Swiftkey, than Swype and T9+multitap.
@@Henkibojj T9 definitely had some drawbacks but at the time it was still incredibly fast compared to other methods. I’ve gotten so used to QWERTY and autocorrect on iPhone now though that when I switch to t9 it’s slower. I think everyone should have to start with a flip phone and T9 so they can appreciate how far we’ve come in the last 10-15 years.

I watched this back then in our crappy internet cafe in the middle of the desert during my teenage years, as much as I was impressed and in love with Apple products I never bought any, not even an iPhone, I've used Android in my whole life, not anymore, in a month I'll be buying my first ever iPhone, the iPhone 15 pro max! I'll be finally redeeming my lust for Apple products ever since .
Trust me, iPhones are great if you want a phone that is good at what it does and has some care in its newly developed features, No hate for Android, they are good for people who like gimmicks on phones and customization, coming from a S21 FE user, now using the 14 Pro
