Ok how about we put it like this, the Ang in this one showed more remorse in this, but the Ang in the Netflix series Avatar state shows way more impact and visual effects in this which (I think is cooler in this) Basically: This scene: Remorse Yes, Avatar State Effects, Nah.... Netflix scene: Remorse Meh, Avatar State Effects, Yeah it's cooler. I'm just saying this because I want to assure that even though the Netflix show have some flaws, the show is still better than this film, non-negotiable.

LOTS of reasons. Lot of it boils down to a mixture of studio meddling and Shyamalan. The studios also did not want the movie to go over 100 minutes because they wanted to produce it in 3D at the last minute, so a crap ton was cut and reshot just months before release in order to budget this unexpected decision. They assumed the movie would automatically make a crap ton of money just because of its name, so they cared very little about its quality.
That's really the least issue of the movie, although it's another example of the Can't Get Nothing Right going on in this film. But the actor at least has a calm, pleasant demeanor (by his relaxed, easy movements and smile at Aang) and seems like someone who could project the right friendly wise elder vibe. If all the changes were so minor as that, we'd have so much less hate for the movie.
The full movie will be released sometime this summer! In the meantime, I have released the first 3 parts of it on the channel homepage for viewing if you’re interested! 🙂
The most bizarre racial casting in this is Shaun Toub as Iroh and Cliff Curtis as Ozai. They expect us to believe those two to be brothers? 😆 Sadly, there are some things this re-edit won't be able to fix.

We've fixed the names, trimmed out a lot of crap, added in lots of unused footage, and polished up much of the bending movements. We're aiming to get the full hour-long edit out this Fall! I'd give it a looksie if you're interested. Please note: the 35 minutes that are currently posted on the channel are subject to change in the final version. So for example, our stand-in Katara narrator will be replaced by an ai of Nikola Peltz's voice.
@nellysol76shorts That’s cool. I actually like the film as well, but have to sadly say it’s got a ton of issues. I do think this could’ve been a decent trilogy had it been edited better, and I hope this edit will demonstrate that.
