So I have the exact same windlass on our 93 Searay. The motor spins but the rope will not retract or let out. Seems to be stuck in the machine. The rope had a kink in it, and I removed it. I ordered new 1/2” triple braid rope for it. But I’m having an issue feeding the rope through the windless and the locker. Any help with that would be great..
Thanks for a thorough and instructional video. I have a similar windlass that I've now taken apart and cleaned, and these videos have been invaluable. You mention a manual, I've tried finding this online, is this something you got from Good? Also, how did you get the bearings off the bronze gear? On mine, they seem to be stuck.
I have the exact same winch on a Shamrock 200SE walkaround my relays just click when activated and winch does not move either direction. I hired a marina employee to fix it and after taking it apart he was carted off by the local POLICE on a warrant He will not return to put it together for two years. I have everything together after viewing your video however .....i can not seem to get the horse shoe shaped part you said was a rope guide installed. Could you or anyone please offer some help. Also back to the original issue....any idea WHY my relays click only and winch does not move either direction? ot has been Sitting unused for a little over a year Thanks.
Sorry about not replying...new to this you tube. If the relays click then they are getting power but if nothing happens you need to check the fuse windlass itself for power. The relays only click the solenoid to allow the power to the windlass. Did you get the rope guide back in?
Great video thank you. But please work on your camera skills and slow down to show parts.
Hello! Thank you for this great video! Do you have one on reassembling the unit? If not I'll just reverse your order.
