The opening sequence of driving over the tunnel flyovers... I can remember those opening and there being a public open day when you could walk over them on foot... exciting times!
I lived their as a nipper, your experience might be better than ours... to me it was a Shthole. I remember getting to our flat with my mum and we caught the Caretaker, letting himself out of our home. We were always getting broken into, it caused our mum and us so much trauma. When i watched them being demolished, I honestly thought it was the councils way of saying sorry to us for all they'd put us through. It was the best payback they could have given to us. Awful place..!
That caretaker would have been going over the balcony if I caught him in my flat 😮
Saw that fall, I was in the original video in school....
Interesting to note that Victor Ogden who was in charge of the demolition was killed in a car crash in 1999 on his way to a horse riding event.
We watched it from a bit further away but was worth waiting for

I was actually there with my mate on the day they blew them up - or rather down.
Interesting video, but I have no clue as to where the location was, I moved to the Wirral in 1983 , I gather it was the Birkenhead area, but I didn’t venture there back then as a kid. I have listed your channel and two others at the end of my recent video’s, for more in-depth information videos about the Wirral. Hope you don’t mind. I wanted to promote other channels that are very good and have alternative videos on locations I go to.

Thank you. I’m glad you like my footage. It is a hobby channel only, I am not interested in monetisation of my channel, so i’m not in competition with any one else, which is why I like to promote a channel of similar interest . Your video’s are very interesting and give in depth information about locations around the wirral. My only suggestion for you, maybe look at small wireless mics for your camera, like the DJI MIC , you can even plug a small discrete mic into the wireless transmitter via a 3.5mm plug. It would save you from holding a bulky mic, I would get wrist pains myself..
Yes I use c1 wireless mics and lav mics. Also H4N audio recorder. They all have different uses depending on the scenario.

I remember that, too. Billy Butler off Radio Merseyside said, the explosion would be no worse than the sound of a car backfiring.. 🤭🤪😳. With each detonation, I'm sure I jumped backwards by 10 feet. It was so loud..😂
