Helen might have been internally struggling with her new role, but ultimately she was The Distortion and her nature was to lure people in to hurt them
I understand that part of her whole thing is deception. Taking her at her word is how you get taken, but I truly believe in the beginning she was mostly telling the truth. And if Jonathan had actually tried, he could’ve intervened and prevented her from becoming what she did. His callous and cruel treatment of a creature who wanted help will forever stain how I look at him. A man who had the ability to comprehend everything, but willingly chose to understand nothing even if it could help people
