I clicked on this out of curiosity. I am glad I did. Don Mclean made me cry with this song and so did you. A flawless performance sir, and thank you for sharing your talent with the world. You truly did this song justice. Bravo!
Thank you Bob for a wonderful comment, very much appreciated.A real heartbreaker of a song from Don McLean, beautifully written. This song will resonate with anyone who has lost in love.So much so that Killing Me Softly was written as a direct result of Lori Lieberman hearing this song live in concert.
Thank you Patricia, very much appreciated. It's not often I reduce anyone to tears with a song, but this song does have that quality it is so well written.
lovely, you perform it well. I remember this this song from being a little kid, playing it on an old record player we had. Listened to it loads when my mum & dad separated & gave me some sort of comfort; felt like someone else understood the sadness I felt.
Thank you, very much appreciated. It's one of my favourite Don McLean songs. As you say, it is such a sad song, but beautifully written.Anyone who has loved and lost can relate to this song.
Beautifully rendered. Your choice of this song says a great deal about the soul at the core of your character: sensitive, selective, erudite and artistic. Thank you for this wonderful performance. You have added greater luminosity to what little sunshine this world receives through the dark clouds of its daily conflicts, and I applaud you for your fine artistry and willingness to share it with the mass of humanity. The oppressed and wretched of this Earth are in need of such grace, and you have come forth to musically provide it. God bless you, sir.

Thank you my friend, vety much appreciated as always. This is a great song, and did you know, this was the song that inspired another great song by Roberta Flack called Kiiling Me Softly?
Chris Forrest Yes Chris, I have attached the words from Wikipedia below for you- According to Lori Lieberman, the artist who performed the original recording in 1972, the song was born of a poem she wrote after experiencing a strong reaction to the song Empty Chairs, written, composed, and recorded by Don McLean.[3] She then related this information to Gimbel, who took her feelings and put them into words. Then, Gimbel passed the words on to Fox, who set them to music.[4] Don McLean said he didn’t know the song described him and, when asked about it, said “I’m absolutely amazed. I’ve heard both Lori’s and Roberta’s version and I must say I’m very humbled about the whole thing. You can’t help but feel that way about a song written and performed as well as this one is.” Ain't it amazing how one great song can inspire another great song.
Thanks Keith, very much appreciated. It's such an emotional song from Don McLean.Did you know that this is the song that inspired "Killing Me Softly" by Roberta Flack?
