Good to do - in fact essential. get the legs thinking about speed. It’s changed my whole running portfolio. If you’d asked me 5 years ago to sprint I’d have broken in 2 😂😂😂
Monster week of training boss! Some solid advice in this video! Happy birthday once again mate! 🥳 Huge shout out to Oscar what a top edit once again! Loved it! 😎🤘
@@ultrarunneradam I think he's mastered it mate! 😊👍 We will have to strategize tomorrow at GTR boss. It's Dan's little ones birthday party that day so I need to see what time I am needed there 🤣👍
I started doing strides two weeks ago and am loving them, such a simple but effective exercise. I did my longest ever race on Sunday at 25km and whilst I can't say for certain if the strides helped or not, I'd like to think they did help me not only finish but to come 68th out of 244 - very happy with that!
Thanks for taking time out to watch - it’s all an accumulation of training adding in some intelligence when you can. Small things add up 💪 well done on your race 👌
@@ultrarunneradam Thanks Adam 🙂 I'm still newbie to running (at least to running properly!) so am trying to learn as much as I can to help me go further without imjury. I have my first 50k ultra in December and tips in videos such as yours are proving invaluable 🙂
Hi Iam 60,started running 4 mnth ago and am up to 13km. Had bright idea to plan 40 mile run over north York Moors (lyke wake walk). It's my goal to try early summer or late spring. Stoney paths up hills for 10 miles, disused railway lines, open moorland paths and stretches of boggy terrain. I don't know what shoes to wear??? Any suggestions for this newbie?
One shoe doesn’t fit all. I use Speedgoat 5 now as they are lasting a winter. If you can run in zero drop which I can’t and don’t want to INOV8 - I like a plush ride 😊 with your training don’t go long too quick. And do loads of strength training. It will really help. Listen to podcast run smarter - first 10 principles - really help you understand injury risk and prevention. Good luck 🤞
Great advice - especially for a road guy like me who keeps playing with the idea of running my first ultra! Happy Birthday! Keep pushing!
Thanks 🙏 Dev - I’ve just signed up to a 50k - only 8k more than a marathon. You’ll breeze it 😜
Thanks for the tips on strides. I've got an easy run tomorrow so I'll try to remember to add some on the end.

Nice vid. Trails looking mint. Good weather continues! Great editing Oscar!!
Nice and dry - hopefully Tots forecast is reliable 🤞
@@ultrarunneradam rained at PHF for 3 hours yesterday and overnight! So his forecast not quite accurate!
Happy Birthday man!
Thanks Shaun 🥳🍾
