I might do the same to my ranger. Just overly cautious with the sensor plugs since they're dried up and probably more susceptible to water getting through
HEY!!!! A clean engine is a good running engine, not only on the outside, the internal parts just the same to! Everything clean looks good, and with a good clean engine, you can see any leaks that needs addressed. Besides, look at it this way, you like to have either a bath or shower to keep and stay clean, so it should be with your car or truck to! And wax your car or truck with car wax, not any of this cheap spray on, wipe off so called wax which isn't nothing more than windex.
I have a 2000 Ford Ranger with a 2.5 liter engine (4 banger). I don't believe I pressure wash the engine at this point. I just don't believe the sensors and seals, being that their now 24 years old, could stand up to the pressure and keep the moisture out. Another thing, I noticed you didn't cover the alternator with a plastic bag or anything to keep it from getting wet. That could really damage the alternator.
