Katelyn Tuohy Is OFFICIALLY Out Of Control!

This is a side of Katelyn Tuohy that not a lot of people see. She looks formidable on the track, with her game face on, or should I see race face on? So it's refreshing to see her that way. Mind you, this easy-going manner caught on camera was taken only a few minutes after she did something really and truly insane!
Yes, you heard that right! American middle- and long-distance runner #katelyntuohy who asked for an Olipop after a race, just broke an NCAA collegiate record!
As of last month, Katelyn is a one-time #ncaa champion and two-time NCAA Indoor champion. This month, wait for it…Katelyn set FOUR collegiate #trackandfield records this year! Yes, four! How crazy is that!

Katelyn has surpassed what any runner could do. It takes alot of hard training to compete in all those races. Everyone expects her to win every race. Every race is different in distance running. She is phenomenal ! I have followed her since High School and she always has room to improve. She works extremely hard !

She was on a tear throughout her year - in XC, indoor track, and outdoor track - until the NCAA Outdoor Championships. While KT didn't win there this year, she still had a great college year. She may simply have peaked too soon in the season - something for her to work on next year.
What do you mean. "Out of Control." She is well "In Control." And doing wonderfully.
So many experts in track comments. I have to wonder how many have ever even been in a two-mile race (what we called it). I can tell you it is exhausting.

I don't think it's correct to say she is a middle distance runner. 5K and 10K are not middle distance events.
Do you consider the 1,500 a middle distance race?
How about the 3k?
800, 1500 are middle distance
It's kind of relative I think.
800, 1.5K, 3K are all middle distance.
5K begins long distance
USTFCCCA collegiate record site lists the outdoor 1500 record as Jenny Barringer Simpson's 3:59.9 set on June 7, 2009. Incidentally, the second fastest time was recorded on June 3 by Addy Wiley of Huntington Univ, (IN), the fastest middle distance runner you've never heard of: 4:03.22.

Tuohy is done she has totally lost it!
Her 1500m run at the NCAA finals in Austin, TX were a college coach’s worst nightmare. She ran it like she was still in high school taking a 20m lead at the second lap and trying to hold it for the rest of the race but against world class runners. Anyone knowledgeable about track knew she wouldn’t even finish in the top five running like that against runners like that, who probably got irritated at her lack of respect for their closing kicks.
NOT ONLY THAT . . . She's an all-around genuinely really great young lady quick to give credit to those who 'surround her and support her. Quick to laugh - slow to anger!

Can she break the 4 minute mile? I think it's possible, she has a long career in front of her.
She's amazing and it's just ridiculous that she wasn't a Bowerman finalist!
Didn't she just finish 6th in the 1500m and pull out of the 5000m ..
It is tough to balance running and school, especially distance. it takes time for sure.

Everybody in the NCAA 2023 Track Meet are in the same age range and participate in approximately the same number of events during the season.
EVERYBODY else didn’t lead the pack and push the pace every race like she did, so, yes, same number of events essentially, yet nowhere near the same amount of wear and tear, mentally and physically… cumulative effect.
