I am touched by her profoundly beautiful playing-it reaches deep into the heart of the listener-Madame Kim truly does it! Most young pianist tend to forget these aspects-so few pianists like Su Yeon Kim have the perfect balance between hands. My admiration for this performance cannot be expressed in words-I simply cannot explain how deeply she reaches into the soul of the listener.

There is not a single note without life in this exhilarating performance of the Fourth Ballade by Frederic Chopin. I especially admire how she understands the style of Frederic Chopin, a big classicist, like other early Romantics such as Liszt, Schumann, Schubert. As these are early Romantic composers, I especially dislike and disapprove of the fact that most young pianists choose to use excessive pedal and lack of good control of the tone. But not Madame Kim, however. The entire performance of this work was played with thorough dedication to the beauty of Chopin's music. I admire her wonderful, superbly beautiful balance between hands and in chords. Her pedal is controlled just right. There was not a single moment where I felt bored. You hypnotized the listener from first note to last as one of the very few pianists in the Chopin Competition of 2015 to do so. Brava, Madame Kim! Thank you for sharing your performance!
This is 100% the way Chopin HAS TO BE PLAYED. Su Yeon Kim is a great pianist and a profound musical personality. The few ( strange !) mistakes are absolutely not important - it is her musicality , her passionate interpretation and her singing sound what counts. BRAVA!!!
