This TH-camr annoys Me because in most videos He starts off promoting his products, talking about his past, then asking people to subscribe, then telling us how important support is to him. Literally 5 minutes into the video He still hasn't got to the point of the videos.
i’ve never run a youtube channel but still i know that its “bad” when people hit abort in the first few seconds-its why everyone heavily truncated or outright ditched their old 20 second intro sequence with theme song etc. so…. he knows that too and rolls with it lol
@@sweeterthananything I just remember the first time on his channel watching one of his videos and was annoyed, and as usual I'm the only one in the comments that says anything about it. Another thing allot of TH-camr do is have a pre made identical segment trying to sell Me a course, your getting into the video and then "Do you want to learn how to make better beats? Learn how to make chords and take your music to the next level bl bla bla" No.
I went thru both hardware and software GAS'es, and as a result I learned that I don't need much to produce music. Laptop with ableton and Launchpad beats most of the portable gear. Ableton Note removed the need of on-the-go device, its just there in my pocket and I can easily continue working on stuff afterwards. Hardware is fun sometimes and limitations can spark new ideas, but that's temporary feeling. You will grow up from that stage, and better you don't find yourself in a room filled with electronics 😅
Good thing the Rabbit R1 wasn't made by teenage engineering - the visual design of product was made by them but they didn't make the software or anything else
It’s funny: I personally haven’t seen anything of value in their range… ESPECIALLY after finding out the price on some of these things But somehow they’ve marketed themselves well enough that they can sell out their stuff at these insane prices… I don’t get it…. I’m clearly not the target audience lol
I think they have things of value, just low value. A lot of their stuff is just a really fancy midi controller. If they just had the same products for a fraction of the cost, they would be a go too for “well designed” hardware. But with the cost it’s absolutely worth nothing lol. Like the Op1 would make a great midi controller for a laptop user, but at 2k it’s literally more than a laptop lol.
@@ghost-user559 absolutely…. And that’s what I meant by “value”: its price points take it out of something worth anything to me, making the company essentially non-existent and meme’able (didn’t they have a $400 t-shirt or something too? 😂)
As a flashy design company all their shit is gonna be expensive as a standard, main reason they stood out with their synths is that they are pretty unique in the synth market, as a design company they could have simply repackaged some old korgs or something but they did kind of set up experimental little workflows with their quirky doohickeys
THEy suck because they create desired products at an unaffordable prices. they suck cause I would love a portable recorder that is not the same old handheld devise with two mics on top. that OP1 thing, that's a $400 product to me and to maybe 3 other people. lol
man i make all my shit with a nektar panorama p6 keyboard and reason 12. but bro if id won more than $600 a month, i think i'll buy a lot of inecesary gear. i think the idea even if you are a fking consumist is use the gear you buy, thats all that matter
I agree with everything else and I'll be first in the trenches when it comes to TE critiques, but the Playdate is actually great and has VERY good games. Doesn't really make sense to look at it as a "standard" game console.
The best brands always attract rabid haters. On that measure TE are a great brand. I honestly don’t know why you all expend so much energy on it. You don’t like their stuff, dont buy it. 🤷🏻♂️
The KO (original) is fun and pretty cheap.

He also has multiple TH-cam channels. And it’s all the same, zero substance
same with plugins which cost 80$ doing nothing you couldnt already do with a little bit extra work
Yep. Just by combining a few free plugins (there are many really good ones), or tweaking whatever comes with your chosen DAW.
The playdate is actually pretty great, unique games on there
Teenage Engineering syndrome eventually results in a man bun, designer coffee addiction, an unreasonable collection of sandals and a fixie bicycle.
Damnit I can’t even enjoy these videos. Lloyd Christmas is ALL I SEEEEEE
Shhhhhhh! Don't call that guy a shill! He's more selective about the products he "promotes" now - so he's not a shill!

Playdate is lowkey a Souljaboy console... Crank That!
Lmao
I would love to have an OP-1, but anything over $500 is INSANE. There are crazy good synths that can do way more for the market price
Dude looks like Pasqually from Chuck E Cheese or something.
where’s my flacidware producers at ?
I only make music with floppy disks
Good thing the Rabbit R1 wasn't made by teenage engineering - the visual design of product was made by them but they didn't make the software or anything else
The playdate wasn't a scam, just overpriced hipster gear like everything else TE touches

How is it even possible to make 90 videos about Teenage Engineering products when they've only ever realeased like six things?
Do TE products come with free hipster tattoos?

Saying "synth user" instead of "musician" is pretty funny. It's like calling Louis Armstrong a "trumpet user".
is this about tenagers learning about engineer, what do you expect, really requires a master degree to sign for engineering
This is one daft bloke!
Cranks are fun don't cha know!
I just don’t understand people loving to be ripped off. Teenage engineering is such an untrustworthy company. I hate their products so much.
Dude made a video to justify why he's a consumer. never heard of him before or his music, lesson in that.
