"Too weak to continue swimming, yet not weak enough to give up and sink." That line just kills me every time. When you don't have the energy anymore to keep swimming and look for all the "other fish", that people tell you swim out there in the ocean (no they don't, I looked for years), but you also aren't broken enough to drown yourself. Or maybe it's the futile hope, that someday a mermaid will swim your way. I met one once, got pulled down and drowned and she swam away. Come to think of it, don't wait for mermaids. Just drift in this endless ocean. You might be lonely and alone, but at least you are at peace. Thank you Harakiri, I don't feel as lonely with all these thoughts and feelings anymore.
Seriously one of the best Post-Black bands out there. J.J. is quite possibly my favorite vocalist of the genre, and this song is fucking poetic genius, both lyrically and musically.
When someone can put into words what i exactly feel, it gives me relief and i know it reuqires great talent.Existence would be worth much less without these kind of music.
Out of all your songs, and all your albums, these 10 minutes of pure catharsis sticks to me the most, especially in a world where I find little reason to exist for at times. But I will keep on going, because I want to push on and live for myself if nothing else even when the world is rough and unkind for the individual. We will scream, and cry, and rage at the worsts of things, and even when the pained memories toils on you, you are still alive, but it is ultimately up to us to decide to sink or swim in this cruel tide. I don't know how you guys do it. But if I could meet you or go to one of your concerts at some point, I want to thank you for screaming the words that many of us lost souls couldn't at our darkest hours. All I ask is please continue doing what you do Harakiri. Your talent is really making a difference, as small as it seems in this existence that you share with your audience, and I hope they will realize that out of the pain and suffering that you have articulated in your music that there is something to strive for.

This song hits close to home. A relationship of many years was ended before Thanksgiving. Now the literal silence, the burden of knowing they wished we never met cuts deep. This song is giving me the strength and comfort knowing my pain is felt by someone else. Ty for this beautiful piece.

There have been quite a few women in my live, who had an impact on me and everyone of them has one specific song I associate with them and the time we spend together. But for one I had no song, she was the women I loved and lost due to her depression. For her I had no song, because non could describe my feelings for her and what she did with my live. Now she has her song. I´m in tears. If you live with depressions, get help, There are people who care for you.
Not_always_the_nice_guy If you live with depression, know that things WILL turn around. I've been destroyed by these things this time last year, love and depression. After that, I died. I didn't care for anything, my humanity was voided. I was just strolling through life for a year with utmost indifference. I think that this process of dying is very important, you become resistant to all the bullshit around you, it adds an outer layer of protection to your being. I thought that I'd never love again, I only loved myself and cared only about myself. Now, I'm happily in love with that one female friend that's been there for me during those times. We haven't been exactly very close at that point, but now we are, very much so indeed. Not everyone is meant to be strong, not everyone is able to survive depression and severe pain that emotions might incur. It's the way of natural selection. The strong shall prevail, the weak will die. And to the strong, these troubles should not be considered as scars, but as valuable lessons for futute life, and it is the school of life that we must graduate in order to mentally and physically survive.
Do you know Woods of Ypres? They're less polished, more doom metal than black, especially on later albums. This song is at some level definitely inspired by David's music. I consider Harakiri (especially last two Harakiri albums) and Altars of Grief as spiritual successors of Woods. Check out song You Were the Light.
i like his voice and his lyrics ! Karg Weltenasche is still one of my favourit album. The sound of Harakiri for the sky is quite similar to their old stuff and i love it.
Ahhhh I fkn love it! What do I love more than the music/lyrics? The flowing of the ink. Especially when the red was moving through the black. Looking forward to the new album gentlemen! \m/
I feel ashamed for not listening to Harakiri for the Sky for two years. A very important band of mine was missing from my library. Listening to this song made me remember what band that was: It was Harakiri for the Sky. \m/
Kann nicht aufhören euch zu hören. Werde ich wahrscheinlich auch nie. Es ist auch mega gut das eure Songs so lange dauern, hört sich nicht so schnell tot.
I don't mind that as much, as the artistic "flair" comes from the cleans and drums. Though a single bass slide or accentuation once, maybe twice; per song would be welcome. :)

The pain in this song is pure. It's truth. And it's beautiful.
And I think that’s where I am right now: Floating, drifting away
Too weak to continue swimming, yet not weak enough to give up and sink
Chills!
It's no wonder that I like this band so much. They seem to remind me of my favourite band, Insomnium.
Me to! I Love Insomnium an now addicted to HFTS

Harakiri For the Sky is one of the best Metal artists in recent years. Genius.
In another night, in another world
Things could have been so different
I swear when I listen to this song it starts raining
Beautiful and powerful song.

LYRICS :
[Verse 1]
Someone I loved
Once gave me a box full of darkness
It took me years to understand
That this too, was a gift
It took me years to realize
You teared my heart through fordable mires
But I wasn’t made for shallow waters
My heart is an ocean
[Verse 2]
And I think that’s where I am right now
Floating, drifting away
Too weak to continue swimming
Yet not weak enough to give up and sink
Leastwise I know
That salty waters might cure everything
Shedding tears or to walk into the sea
Or to walk into the sea
[Verse 3]
Did you know, if you hold your breath all too long
You will finally sleep forever?
Did you know, that I never forgave myself
For what we’ve become?
How odd I can have all of this inside me
And to you it’s just words, another letter?
But what is loss? What is wealth?
I am nothing! We are nothing!
We are nothing!
We are nothing!
[Chorus]
I am the mourning
You are the scars
I am the night
Color me black
I am the mourning
You are the scars
I am the night
Color me black
[Verse 4]
There’s a place in my heart that will never be filled
And even during the best and the greatest times
I will know it… …more than ever
I will know it… …more than ever
[Verse 5]
In another night, in another world
Things could have been so different
In another night, in another world
Things would have been so different
[Chorus]
I am the mourning
You are the scars
I am the night
Color me black
I am the mourning
You are the scars
I am the night
Color me black
I am the mourning
You are the scars
I am the night
Color me black

PURE PAIN ... WONDERFUL SONG...
This band is so fucking amazing in every possible way, never disappoints to make me goosebumps so hard.
okay, now i decided these guys are best black metal band around
Harakiri has become one of my favorite bands. All their albums are amazing!
it's much better than Tomb Omnia. I love when they make energic, emotional songs like this and I hope the rest of albums like this.
Tomb Omnia is great tho;')
Über 10 Minuten unbeschreiblicher Musik und puren Genusses !!!!!!!!!! 🖤

This song says how i'm feeling in this moment of love mourning. Cheers from Bogotá Colombia.

Love this band. Still Black and Yellow is in that guitar riff. Once you hear it You are possessed by it
the new album is sure to buy
Harakiri ist immer wieder geil!
Amazing song, lyrics have Woods of Ypres vibe.
In another night, in another world
Things would have been so different...
David Gold would be proud of those guys
Just thought the same.
Imagine if David were still here and Woods of Ypres and Harakiri For the Sky did a tour together.
would be cool but ... yeah
Thanks, now I'm back to binge-listening Woods again... :p

I fucking love the bass in the songs recently, it sounds so powerful. Fantastic.
I agree it sounds really good, but it also bugs me that it's just doing the same as the rhythm guitar for the entire song
