More like understated. Collateral damage is completely disregarded but the real insanity is outright murders are also ignored. Shoots a grandmother lying on her couch doing nothing in front of her grandkids. "this is acceptable" We are like the frog in the pot of slowly increasing temperature water. Cops are the agents of capital. They will put down marginalized populations and always have. I can never find his name, but the balding, overweight guy who was one of the best actors in CH history.

It's really refreshing not to have a straight man character in the sketch. Just let it be rediculous without acknowledgement
yessss. CH is great but I notice a lot of the sketches far too transparently involve somebody pointing out the how ridiculous somebody else is acting, which cuts too close to killing the joke for me.
I mean, maybe it's what works best overall. I'm not a comedy expert. But, either way, I never cared enough to comment about it until I saw yours expressing the same sentiment I had.
I think my personal problem with the ways I've seen the straight man role played is more when when they're literally explaining the joke rather than more "subtly" being the normal one. "Subtly" as in making in-character comments but still not actually explaining explicitly what's weird about the situation.
