Two things can be true at the same time. There's no justification for the violence, and these two should get the maximum sentence. But to the comments about tipping being out of control, the public is generally uneducated about how food delivery drivers get paid. The restaurants sometimes pay $1 or $2 for each delivery, which barely covers the delivery driver's gas. In many cases the driver doesn't get paid anything per hour. In this predatory arrangement, the only compensation the driver receives is tips. Again, two things can be true at the same time. What these criminals did is reprehensible. But don't blame workers who are put in the position of having to work for tips because of the companies that exploit them.
@@paulwalker3916 while I don’t disagree overall with your statement, I do disagree that it should fall on the consumers to tip a certain amount because someone chooses to work for a company that pays less than the gas it takes to complete a run. I don’t believe for a minute everyone tips well any more than I believe people are working day after day using their own gas and not being compensated somehow. The resources would run out due to lack of funds to replenish the resources. We always tip accordingly and even give our drivers gifts randomly and at the holidays, but not everyone does that. Tipping culture is way out of hand. We own a small business and at a recent market one of the other business owners had their tips turned on and was asking people why they weren’t tipping her. One finally asked if she was the business owner, to which she responded “yes.” Then he asked her why a tip was appropriate when she was the one setting the prices for her merchandise. She got snippy and responded, “I need all the money I can get and sales wouldn’t be as high if I raise my prices.” So in this case the small business owner expects a customer to give her a tip. We have been given tips in the past even though we tell them it’s not necessary. We always go to the store and use that money to put items in the food pantry. It’s usually not much, but no one should be tipping us either. We set our prices accordingly and aren’t owed a dime. We don’t always make our money back at markets either, but it’s not going to be made up in tips. We change strategies and choose better markets.
@@paulwalker3916that is very unreasonable and unfair if they don’t pay them for delivering. We don’t have to tip them for delivering something we already paid for.
