This video demonstrates how to determine the concentration of an unknown base by titration. Proper use of graduated cylinders for volume measurement and use of a burette for titration using the pH indicator phenolphthalein are shown. Calculations to determine concentration of the unknown are shown using the m1v1 = m2v2 formula. This activity is included in the laboratory textbook Biotechnology: A Laboratory Skills Course.

I was in college when I last tried titration, and it is refreshing to see the process again. But i forgot when to stop or how will I know if the solution has been neutralized. Is it in the last drop of the base that makes the solution pink?

As soon as the liquid changes color, is when the titration is finished. Depending on the pH leven detector you used.
So the last drop that has the solution permanently change color is what you are looking for. In certain cases its best to drop slowly during the process of titration. Then you can read how much of the titration solution was used on the burette.

Except for the part using a measuring cylinder to measure the NaOH.. it should be using a pipette
