But Zak, a magician, did a dissapearing act, and never reappeared (Well... not before he was killed in Turnabout Trump as his alias Shadi Smith). Trucy's Dad Status: Missing, Dead in Absentia, Dead. As for her Mom, we meet her in none other than Turnabout Serenade, 4:3. Her name is Thalassa Gramarye, daughter of Magnifi. Even before Zak's case (Trucy was already born), she was already believed to be dead because of an accident during magic practice. But she wasn't dead, she managed to flee, though losing her memories and being blinded, and married a wandering traveler called Jove Justice, and had a son with him, Apollo. Just as they were performing in Khur'ain, Ga'ran set the place in which they were performing ablaze in order to frame Dhurke Sahdmadhi. Jove died in this incident, but baby Apollo was rescued by Dhurke. Thalassa didn't know this however, and believed her family dead. She turned to performing in bars, and was seeked out for her talent, eventually taking the name Lamiroir and sing along with the Gavinners. At the end of Apollo Justice, Phoenix figures her out and confronts her about it. She tells him she regained her memories and she's finally happy to be alive. He assured her he will tell Apollo and Trucy they are half-siblings in due time. Though he didn't do that yet. Trucy's mom status: Alive, though we don't know where she is now.

Gosh damn.

The cutscene where Edgeworth and Phoenix start the trial, I can't stop hearing T&T's Court Begins. I feel like it fits better but maybe it's just the fact that it's the first time since Phoenix and Edgeworth were on the same case again. God T&T is a masterpiece.

That last cutscene always gives me the chills since it speaks volumes in so many ways. It represents the departure of the dark age of the law, Blackquill regaining his freedom and being able to spread his wings, and on top of that, characters with discomforts being able to set them aside and embrace life. The cutscenes in this game were some of the greatest cutscenes in any game I've ever played.

It's not that bad come on. They never fully voiced the characters aside from interjections (with the exception of Phoenix in UMvc3). So you have to hand it to them for trying their best.
The reason people don't pay attention to the melodrama in original Japanese anime is because they don't understand Japanese. At the same time, the Japanese don't necessarily hate it the way we would if people did the same thing in English because they (may) consider (this is just a guess) acting that's too realistic to be boring, or even bad acting. Thing is, that's true of the US, too. If dialogue were 100% realistic, not many people would like it. Even "reality" shows are edited to make the best of the nonsense they're given. People would just not watch a show with 100% realistic acting and dialogues. The closest we come is something like Clerks, and even that's too much for a lot of people.
bobtheduck I've made a similar argument at one point. With an anime that has both English and Japanese voices, people will usually say that the English version is bad because they spent so much time hearing the Japanese voices, and when they go and listen to the English voices, it'll seem like the voices "don't fit." I say that's only because they spent so much time listening to one voice that they've mentally associated that voice with the character, and it is difficult to imagine a different voice for that character. I also said that if one were to spend time with the English voices first, the Japanese voices might sound weird. It's like when a character in a cartoon suddenly get's a new voice actor with a different voice.

That last cutscene always gives me the chills since it speaks volumes in so many ways. It represents the departure of the dark age of the law, Blackquill regaining his freedom and being able to spread his wings, and on top of that, characters with discomforts being able to set them aside and embrace life. The cutscenes in this game were some of the greatest cutscenes in any game I've ever played.
The only thing I don't like about the new voice actors is that they make Phoenix sound younger than Apollo at times.

If I'm not mistaken, when he says he has Cords of Steel, I think that also means he has a deeper voice. I get what you mean though.

I must be the only one here who actually thinks the voices are somewhat okay ^^; And the cut-scenes are so pretty, it's nice to see Ace Attorney take such a major step up in the art department! This entire game was pretty much amazing.

It's not that bad come on. They never fully voiced the characters aside from interjections (with the exception of Phoenix in UMvc3). So you have to hand it to them for trying their best.

The reason people don't pay attention to the melodrama in original Japanese anime is because they don't understand Japanese. At the same time, the Japanese don't necessarily hate it the way we would if people did the same thing in English because they (may) consider (this is just a guess) acting that's too realistic to be boring, or even bad acting. Thing is, that's true of the US, too. If dialogue were 100% realistic, not many people would like it. Even "reality" shows are edited to make the best of the nonsense they're given. People would just not watch a show with 100% realistic acting and dialogues. The closest we come is something like Clerks, and even that's too much for a lot of people.

I've made a similar argument at one point. With an anime that has both English and Japanese voices, people will usually say that the English version is bad because they spent so much time hearing the Japanese voices, and when they go and listen to the English voices, it'll seem like the voices "don't fit." I say that's only because they spent so much time listening to one voice that they've mentally associated that voice with the character, and it is difficult to imagine a different voice for that character. I also said that if one were to spend time with the English voices first, the Japanese voices might sound weird.
It's like when a character in a cartoon suddenly get's a new voice actor with a different voice.
I still cant believe this game is so old. The first game is even older! I feel so old ;^;. Nostalgia man, these games were my childhood. The anime was okay, I watched it after school a few years back. Im rewatching everything, I still cant believe how old these games really are
