"We are not here to win, we are here to rock" Such a good attitude, especially since School of Rock was going up against Hamilton, which was always gonna take all of the awards, but these guys still put on a fuckin' rocking show.
Props to these kids for acting like they don’t know anything about the very instruments they auditioned into this musical with. Once you’re good at something, it’s actually harder to be bad at it, lol.
the kids are amazing but you could instantly see that they were familiar with the instruments...almost all of them had the right grips etc. as soon as they touched the instruments.
The crazy thing is, Evie Dolan (as Katie, playing bass) legit couldn't play bass when she first auditioned. She played the ukulele at her audition, and when she got a callback they told her to be prepared to play "Teacher's Pet" on her bass. She'd never touched a bass in her life. Her dad then bought her a bass, she learned "Teacher's Pet" over the course of one weekend, did the callback, and got the part.
Ever since School of Rock, I’ve thought of a joke idea. I call it the Brightman curse: if there’s an original musical bound to premiere at the Winter Garden Theatre, Alex Brightman is legally obligated to star as the male lead.
If I had a nickel for every original musical starring Alex Brightman as the lead that opened at the Winter Garden, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s still weird it happened twice.
Alex Brightman is impeccable in every show he’s in! SOR and Beetlejuice are completely different requirements for their lead, yet he’s able to become whatever is needed!
When Alex performs things. He brings his energy on stage and make everyone better. I swear he’s the best actor I’ve ever seen. And no one can tell me otherwise. He’s incredible and his talent is just- I can’t even express how amazing he is. Plus he’s a cinnamon roll🥺
Dewey Finn is the teacher that every kid needs! Pushes them to shamelessly be themselves and be proud of it. Also - it;s unfair that these children have more talent at their ages than I can dream of in my lifetime! :D
I saw a School of Rock performance on TH-cam. I was amazed by it, Dewey Finn was very active and cheerful. I’ve never seen anything like this before. I think this performance is good for families. It’s positive and inspiring. School of Rock was unusual. It's a musical and dance show in a single performance. On the stage there was a teacher with his class. And they were having music class. There were a lot of children, and their teacher was choosing students for his band. He inspired them not to give up. When I was watching it I was really excited. What I liked about it was the music and atmosphere. Moreover, I liked the energy and roles played. I recommend it because it's creative and original. Love Anfisa)
I’m playing drums in the pit band for this musical right now and having such a blast doing it. Our kids are so talented. What a fun musical this is to play.
We doing this for our highschool musical and I’m a roadie and I’m in 7th grade cause they opend up auditions to 7th and 8th graders and I love this song so much
we did this at my school!!! i played ned and it was my first musical since year 6 (5th grade). i’m now 16 and going into year 11 (10th grade)!!! it was so much fun to do school of rock, although i think the pros did a MUCH better job!!!!! :)
Of course they're better than you *at this moment* but NEVER sell yourself short! Be inspired by them, and keep going with the practice/lessons for the sheer *happiness* of the process. Even if you only delight yourself and your own circle instead of commanding a stage, this world needs all the music it can get -- most folks never have the talent to play anything at all. Best of fortune to you!

That’s not the premise. They’re talented with these instruments, they just never played anything but classical.

Wrong they were accomplished young musicians .

The funny thing is you can kinda hear the subtle beetle juice voice
Feels like he’s also going for the jack black voice which also has that rasp
I think that might just be his voice

Yes, first this song and then 'The Spark' by those Irish kids😎
Daily reminder that this is exactly how Adam from hazbin hotel looks like. I think I’m in love ever more now.
I came here to say that Adam was a whole ass reference to this character and I only just now realized it. Right down to “sticking it to the man.”
Adam, Sir Pentious, and Fizzaroli. Though this song is very Adam (while the other two, especially Fizz, are more Beetlejuice)
I wanna watch this so much. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
ALEX ❤
You see how big their guitars are compared to their bodies? I think it’s funny
It looks like so much fun to be one of the kids playing something in this omg
