  • Sabine walks you through several examples of how to edit your most creative wildlife photography images to really do them justice! Using Adobe Lightroom, Sabine will show you step by step how to edit High Key, Low key, Panning and sunset silhouette wildlife photography images.
    This is the second video in the creative captures series produced by Sabine. Here is a link to the first video where she outlines her wildlife photography tips for taking more creative photography. The creative photography ideas come thick and fast in this video! • Creative Wildlife Phot...
    Creative wildlife editing can often leave the image looking too manipulated and so Sabine will explain how to maintain the essence of the image without going too far in the wildlife photography post-production process.
    Although she is using Adobe Lightroom for this wildlife photography tips video the techniques can be used with alternative editing software to Lightroom.

      Thanks Sabine. How about some new videos using the new Lightroom enhancements in version 11? I took a zebra photo taken at normal exposure and using the new masking features in Lightroom was able to replicate your High Key.

    This video is a couple of years old but its lesson is current to me. I just returned from the Chobe where Charl helped me with the set up for a high key image of a hippo. When I returned home and watched this video, I was able to create a wonderful image. Thank you, Sabine and Charl for the help.

    My wife and I, just got back from a week on the Chobe. Our host was Guts. Wow, what a great trip! We met you and Janine shortly at the Chobe hotel one day. We got an idea how to shoot/compensate exposure for high and low key images. We watched your video for the fine points and to get a great review. Thank you for posting this. We also watched the Pangolin video in the Maasai Mara that looks awesome. That baloon ride over the Mara river looked like a lot of fun.

    Hi Sabine and greetings from Ballito. I visited Chobe Pangolin 3 weeks ago and left with a ton of great photos including high and low key images. All credit to hosts Jaco and Danielle, who taught me so many new photography skills. I'll be revisiting my high and low key images in Lightroom again to apply your workflow which is a lot more structured than mine. Great video, thanks.

    Hi Sabine, Thank you for this tutorial. I am fairly new to editing RAW images in LR and currently only have LR5. I've been learning how to use it from watching various TH-cam video's. This tutorial today will help me with some recent images I had taken with the plan of undertaking hi-key edits. Some of the tips you have given I've not seen before, so thanks. Regards Mal, North Yorkshire, England.

    Hi Sabine. Greetings from Ballito: Great job , and thank you for this... Since we were there, and I was consciously trying to shoot Hi Key, and Lo Key, I have some really cool results. Using those pics captured on our last trip, I have just supplied a small game lodge in KZN with a total of 12 of my pics in various sizes, depending on the size of each room etc. Those were printed on stretched canvas on a plywood backing, and block-mounted. I have a selection of Hi Key B+W and also half were in full colour... Judging by the great reaction so far, it was a very successful trip :-p
    Warm regards
    Tim

    Beautiful work. I use LR6.14 (and Affinity Photo) yet & am embarrassed to say, I never noticed the iris selection. Beautiful work. I'm pretty sure the High key you edited would print great. Have you any experience printing with the low key photo like the Crock? Thanks for any replies if any.

    • @PangolinWildlife
      @PangolinWildlife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, thank you very much for the lovely comment. From prints I have seen I'd say that low keys print very well on metallic textures rather than canvas which I quite like for high keys as they bring out the structure nicely ;) -Sabine

    Too much editing will bring an artificial look to your image, which in effect will dilute the natural effect of your images, which is exactly what you are doing, Sabine.

    • @wilduntamedphotography1260
      @wilduntamedphotography1260 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Please read the title, the video is all about CREATIVE Wildlife Photography, not about classic nature or photojournalistic Photography. Creative shots need a slightly different and more creative editing ......

    • @RAJMAN181
      @RAJMAN181 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wilduntamedphotography1260 that's different, I thought in purist terms photography in simpler term whatever, be it street, journalist or wildlife is to make an ordinary or normal photo into a great eye catching one by simply altering it not too much by post, keeping it' s originality, but photography have nowadays evolved with all those fancy terms like creative photography and other nonsense.

      Photography, like many other forms of art, is very much a subjective form of expression. There is no right or wrong. First and foremost I take phtographs to make myself happy. If anyone else enjoys my photos then that is a bonus. Great work Sabine. Z
