Let me preface that I'm not very experienced and take this with a grain of salt, but this is what I noticed: He keeps his front hand too low, the opponent can see the oi zuki coming. The opponent steps back to avoid the punch and immediately counters with gyaku zuki. His right hand is positioned too far back so it takes too long to throw his gyaku zuki. Notice the opponent at 2:08, the right hand is already in position to throw his gyaku zuki counter. For whatever reason, he doesn't utilize his reach advantage with kicks. Possibly work on front leg mae giri or mawashi geri.
He should focus more on the "Why I am throwing the technique" rather than throwing random stuff for zoning. And he should not compromise Defense for the atack
Great point Gorok. You need a clear purpose and end goal in mind when you commit to the attack. And yes, keeping a sound defense while attacking is difficult but very important. All great points that we can all do better :)
@@KaratePlaybook Maintaining a strong defense on the atack might be more difficult , but it can be helped by good positioning on the atack , by not just going in a straight line with the atack, but also sliding left or right ,up and down
If you are looking for Heian Shodan, here is the link to a video I did a while back: th-cam.com/video/uLa8u4M144w/w-d-xo.html I might be doing another soon.
What CONSTRUCTIVE advise could you give Manansh to help him with his sparring? 👇

Awesome tips, I will definitely incorporate into my kumite strategy.
Fantastic, glad I was able to help. Let me know if you have any questions.
Can you do a video on sparring combinations?
Of course! I've been doing quite a few of those but will definitely have more coming soon.
