    I got my Hasselblad 503cx (along with a second 50mm lens) a few months ago now, after watching all of Jonathan's videos.
    Now, I am just enjoying life and learning photography.
    I've just watched to "tinkle" the algorithm.

    So well done Jonathan. Thanks. I sold all my hassy stuff years ago, I'm a pro who is getting close to retirement and have rebuilt my darkroom so looking to get back into film for fun

    I think the Hasselblad 500 series have a really classic design. They just look nice. You just want to pick it up and take some photos

    One more thing to check with the back: The last three digits on the back should match the number on the insert. They were mated at the factory to be light tight. (Or perhaps I should frame that as a question: Is it really important that the numbers match?)

      Usually doesn’t affect performance but it does affect the value so it’s a worthwhile check. Thanks for commenting.

    Or newer C lens? Eletric contact in lens does not make sense for 501C/CM. What about the missing window with red/white flag showing ststus of the camera? How to do double exposure on this camera? With fixed screen 501C still fetched high price just because it was newer? Vgnetting of non-gliding mirror only happened in viewing/composing, will have no effect on the exposure, right?

      Newer Hasselblad C lens is a good lens but CF / CFE has better construction. Red/white flag not necessary hence its removal (always wind camera on before changing lens or back). Check instruction book re. Double exposure - it’s not difficult. Hasselblad 501C has an interchangeable screen. You’re confusing with 500C. And, yes, vignetting in viewing system doesn’t affect image (only occurs with longer lenses).

    The 501 CM can have a problem with the mirror to return !

    • @WorldwideCameraExchange
      @WorldwideCameraExchange  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the floating mirror mechanism is more complex on the later Hasselblad cameras. I’ve known some issues but not enough to highlight it as an area of weakness. Thanks for commenting.

    Hi Jonathan, I have a 500 cm and I have noticed the bottom curtain on the auxiliary shutter is not closing tightly. Is this something that can be looked at yourself or does it need to be sent for repair thanks

    • @WorldwideCameraExchange
      @WorldwideCameraExchange  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It doesn’t sound serious. The camera probably just needs a service.

    Thank you Jonathan! I have a question for you on backs. I have the option to get an extremely clean older a12 back with the v button, or the newer “12” button version but it’s got some scuffs and brassing. Would you get the older version since it’s cleaner? Both fully working btw

    • @WorldwideCameraExchange
      @WorldwideCameraExchange  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Go for the older version in better condition. But make sure it’s in full working order and doesn’t need servicing (clean equipment is obviously little used but this might mean it’s been sat in a drawer for years so a service might be necessary)

      Hasselblad 503CW production ended October 1996. The 501CM in 1997.

      @@user-py3li8lh5t503CW production was not ended in 1996. My unit was produced in 2002 and the last model was 503CWD which produced in 2006.

      Always difficult to determine exactly when production stopped. The 501CM was the last of the 500 series cameras. The 503CWD was the last of the 503 series cameras.
