Really like all the step you show to build this beauty! it's very nice to shares this build with us ! this is my project for the next winter ! you are my reference to properly build this beautiful plane! thank you so much ! Michel Raymond from Québec!
@@UngluedModeler I'm really looking forward ! I'm 64 years old and it's the best gift I'm going to give my self ! 🤣💙👍I dream of this moment from long time !
For the battery, I put guide rails so that I don't have to find the notches. Just putting two thin aluminum angles works a charm. I first made them with plywood and it worked great too. The way my brother did it is he notched the bottom of the tray and put two guide pins. It works the same way.
Looking good! Mary, bravo, 👏 the seat covers look great and Matt is right, you’ll be getting requests for the pattern. The carbon sheet made the door and inside cabin wall look so much better. Small details make a huge difference.Too bad about the cap pack but I have a feeling you guys will figure it out. thanks for the great video.
Thanks!! Mary is working on some templates so people can sew some up on their own!! Or have your wife do it 😂 hahaha. She’s also gonna make some for our XCub we’re putting together
I like your videos and Very nice advices. One tip for faster asemply at the Wings is to replace stock g10 with 3mm screw with Spring attachment. I put aluminium with bolt inside the wing and i attached with Spring every time I want ro remove it. I cannot upload here photos
I have the Castle cap pack on mine. You need to flip the motor with the wires going up. Then flip the ESC and put the Cap Pack on the bottom and the battery leads going through the bottom. Or flip the Cap pack so the terminals are closer to the ESC and that should give you clearance.
Yeah I definitely thought about doing that!! I was wondering if any vibrations might affect the caps in the long run though? But that’s definitely an option I was thinking of. Haven’t given up yet hahah 😂
Great work. I’m in the process as well building the Carbon Cub but with gas. What is that carbon film called and where can I get it please. Looks great Thank you Perry
Thanks!! Yeah Mary did a great job with them for sure. Mary is still working on the templates for them and we will make them available for free somehow so anyone can download them. I’ll bug her and tell her to hurry up lol 😂
I know its been a year but just "finished" my CC. The thumbscrews and the battery shim made all the difference. Thank You. Anyone know of a decent light package to replace the mediocre factory lights?
Thats awesome!! Congrats! Glad the thumb screws and thee shim helped you as well. Both of those things were so annoying from the factory. Life hacks!! hahah As far as lights I don't know of any off the top of my head but...there are a bunch people use. RCGroups has a pretty active Carbon Cub 15cc forum
Good job on the seats Mary. Instead of "Pimp my Ride" we have "Pimp my Cub" hahah I made a funny. Good job to both of you and thanks for video. Keep on Flying in the Free World !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some people glue them in BUT…we chose not to because we were lucky and our doors fit so perfect and the magnets are so tight and snug that there is no way it will open in flight. The lower door holds the upper door in perfectly!! We didn’t want to lose the access to the cabin by glueing them in.
Could you rotate the cap pack 180 from where it was ?... it would make the connection to the esc shorter, or rotate the motor and bracket 90 you have power lead length. Just thinking out loud.
I'm confused I guess. But that plane looks much larger than the Carbon Cub I've been looking at buying. What company produces this Carbon Cub? Great looking plane & all the details you've upgraded. Especially the seat covers. 👍🛩️🇺🇸
This is the Hangar 9 Carbon Cub 15cc. It’s a balsa ARF. You can go gas engine 15-20cc or the electric route like we chose for this plane. Thanks !!! It’s a great flying plane. !
@@UngluedModeler thank you for the fast reply. I was just looking at that plane on Horizon Hobby website. That might be in my future. But not my first plane. I'll get the foam Carbon Cub for now. New subscriber here now though.
I have watch all of your Carbon Cub 15cc videos they are very nice !Iam building one,do you think the Saito FG-30B would be ok? I read that some people say the FG21 is low in power for stunts.Thankyou for your information!
Awesome thanks for watching!!! As far as those four stroke engines I have read also that the FG 21 is more for scale flying. Not much excess power. I know that’s how the DLE 15cc is also so people step up to the DLE 20cc for the little extra power. Now for four strokes I would think that the same principle would apply and need to go up to the FG30 if it will fit. I’ll be honest I have not looked into the four stroke engines ever really. But once again I have read the FG21 is more for scale flying.
@@UngluedModeler Thankyou for replying! Iam going to order the FG30 I will let you know.If it doesn,t fit I will just have to buy a plane that fits it!! LOL
@@edwinmclean2591 I'm thinking of a 90 electric motor with a throttle curve that jumps sharply from 50% to 100%. Scale flight with get out of trouble emergency warp 9 power.
I'm ready to order a set of seat covers asap! Nice job on yours, I just picked one of these up second hand and it needs a little modeling.
I agree! NICE TOUCH!

I love the seat covers! Wouldn't your wife want to sell them? If so sign me up !
P.S. Wouldn't the capacitors fit on top but "tipped" on it's side?

Just lay the cap pack on its side, that should make it fit on top 👍

Comment bait?
Rounding the edges of the two tabs on the battery plate should make it go in a little easier. Nice plane, great video!

Do you glue the door hinges into the fuse or just slide them in?

Yes!! Definitely needs a pilot 👨✈️ 😂

The cap pack in this situation was unnecessary. They come into play when batt leads go beyond 12”.
I only can afford 40 size planes 😢
