David Williams might be the most criminally under-appreciated living master of Jazz bass

That’s a truly beautiful version and live interpretation of a much loved tune. Jazz in its simplicity is all about rhythm and percussion. You could dance to this or even salsa!

Saw BH at Montgomery County Community College (Montco. Pa) years ago. It was worth going just to hear his rendition of Sunflower. The entire performance was incredible. Sometimes we say it was one of the best shows ever. This was one of them. The beauty of live jazz.

One of the best jazz piano solos ever performed bar none.
    Perfection overdrive.
Cedar I hope you are in Paradise where you belong.

Glad to have met Cedar in 2003. Cedar and Bobby Timmons are my favorites.

What a great band!..there is a strong Ahmad Jamal influence on the way this tune is played.
    Thanks for sharing!

Did cedar just do flight of the bumblebee in his solo??? Genius. That’s awesome.

Love Cedar, Bobby, & David--but Eddie Marshall shines! My favorite drummer!!

Eddie Marshall was amazing! We were lucky to have him here in the Bay Area as a wonderful musician and educator. He taught regularly at Jazz Camp West and Stanford Jazz Workshop, and we learned a ton while hearing some of the finest drumming of all time. th-cam.com/video/nx2ItlczvB8/w-d-xo.html

This concert was in 2010--we traveled all over Spain, ended up in Palermo, Italy. What are the clothespins doing on the piano? Beautiful music--so glad it's on TH-cam. Eddie Marshall passed right after this tour, and now Cedar is gone.

When I lived in New York, years ago, Iused to go to various jazz clubs for a good meal and great jazz. I met Cedar Walton then, and I always enjoyed his work.
