A theory that I have about this video is that Boozoo wasn't actually killed by the ghosts. I think Boozoo was murdered in his sleep by someone else. He is shown to be nothing but horrid and unpleasant, and it's most likely somebody got sick of his shit and decided to in act revenge. That's why Mortality comes for him at the end, and hell, why he's actually named Mortality. He's a physical manifestation of death. Boozoo is already dead and Mortality is here to claim his soul. As for the purpose of the other ghosts, I think they're goal was to try and get Boozoo to repent for his sins, maybe so he could grant himself a way into heaven or something? As creepy and intimidating as they are, I defiantly give off the vibe that they want him to change. But of course, Boozoo deflected and deflected, and by the time he finally was sorry, it was too late. Mortality toys with him and gives him false hope, makes him think he actually does have a future, only to make sure he feels every inch of pain of his death, and I guess dragging him down to hell. The first ghost did say he would see him in hell after all lmao. Also the clock was his time of death, but I think that's a little oblivious lmao
In this adaptation it feels like the ghosts aren’t truly trying to help Boozoo, they’re just taunting him, mocking him, making him feel all the remorse and guilt and fear he’s built up before killing him, they don’t care about him, all he is to them is a toy to torture until he can’t take it anymore
Same honestly people are saying that boozoo avoided all opportunities to change and while that might be true for the ghost of past where he continues to lie and deny his wrongdoing at 19:32 he looks/sounds like he would have done the right thing and not deducted the pay of banny
For the original, what really softens Scrooge up was seeing the joy yet struggles many people were going through especially the Cratchit’s with Tiny Tim and their finances. Scrooge’s empathy and compassion comes through and he is remorseful and wants to change, not only cause he doesn’t want to be detested at death, but because he wants to do what he can to help and be better with his own limited time on Earth. Boozoo lacked that ability to gain that. At most he was like that child who only says sorry cause they’re facing consequences for their actions. He saw the suffering Banny’s family was going through but only felt bad it was happening. He didn’t have that reflection and revelation that Scrooge had
I love how this implies there is monstrous, horrid creatures that specifically choose to go after evil people instead of just random, innocent victims. It makes it feel so much more realistic then if it had just been “scary monster attack on Christmas.” They try to give him so many chances to have an out, but it’s boozo himself that leads to his downfall.
Same, I like when a horror villain has a somewhat reasonable motivation, instead of just being some assholes torturing and killing otherwise innocent folk, its my main issue with the saw movies, such missed potential.
@@Tyler-q3k Freddy Krueger's initial motivation in 1 and 3 were what also made him a terrifying villain. Although in franchises like Halloween, the alternative is preferable since that was Michael Myers' original intent. He never had an agenda of killing his surviving sister (or his entire family because of a curse depending on the continuity). Then there was whatever the Rob Zombie remakes were trying to do. I haven't watched the Blumhouse trilogy yet, but at least they ignored Halloween 2 unlike the previous two continuities, so that way Michael still didn't have a motivation and made him scarier (it also went around the issue of the franchise's weird tendency of shrugging off Michael being burnt to a crisp at the end of 2 instead of making him a zombie like Jason Voorhees).
I remember watching an animated 3d adaptation of the film. That terrified me, the ghost of Christmas Present lifting his coat to malnourished kids was scary to me. This brought all that fear again.

That version genuinely terrified me when I was younger. Every single time I got to the Ghost of Christmas Future in that movie when I watched it with my grandparents I'd either leave the room entirely or hide under a blanket.
"Was Boozoo doomed from the start or did he doom himself by not repenting?" Well, it's both. On seeing Boozoo's actions, Mortality was convinced that Boozoo would never change. The rest is Mortality proving to others that Boozoo has no intention of changing even when given the chance to make amends.

While the Christmas Carol is a deconstruction itself of the self made man archetype that is prominent in the 1800s, which shows the miserable person Ebenzer Scrooge ended up as, it also offered a reconstruction by introducing the three Christmas spirits to help Scrooge achieve redemption in the end. But this series deconstructs the classic three Christmas Spirits formula itself by showing that Boozoo will refuse any offer on self reflection after a lifetime of being conditioned to be selfish.

I find it kind of interesting how there wasn’t really a Jacob Marley in this retelling/adaptation, with the warning of the ghosts coming from the ghost of Christmas past. It could just be for the sake of brevity given the original video is already nearing 40 minutes. I interpreted the story's message as "If you want to atone your actions and redeem yourself, you must do it soon, because we all live on limited time."

I think in my opinion, FX’s Christmas Carol had a much more darker and sadder tale, not as scary or terrifying as boozoos ghosts, but it was really depressing and sad, Scrooge was a very bad and twisted man and he really had no love for others. I’m not going to spoil anything else so if you’re interested go and watch it yourself, but fair warning it is a very VERY dark adaptation of the classic.

There’s no warning from beyond that provides that faint sliver of hope, because there is none. Boozoo was doomed from the very start. And that’s exactly what makes this story so utterly, utterly bleak.

Damn this guy is worse than Scrooge
Merry Christmas
Heya! You've asked if there was a remake for Boozoo's Ghosts and I'm here from the future to deliver! TeD gReEn remade the story in their own fascinating style, a few changes here and there, and it is soo good! I highly recommend you take a look at it, if you're able to. 😊
I remeber you covered this last year
