I just did my big chop cutting off damaged hair & I wouldn’t change it for ANYTHING.. I feel this is very inspiring for women.. ✨✨✨

I decided to cut off my relaxed hair last year November by myself. After I've cut it off I was so desperate for weeks, reasons being my hair was so short, dry, very thick, hard to manage and it wasn't what I've expected at all (no curls). I was in regret mode😅😅and there was no turning back. I started using rice water on my hair this method really works and also having braids. While my hair was in braids I will try to moisturize it with aloe juice and raw shea butter every weekends. I started to notice growth for these couple months and realized that my hair just needed some length. Now I know that I have made a right decision going natural...😌

This movement is amazing. We are taking back what was robbed of us for so many years. This generation maybe be crazy but we know where we are going and what we want for ourselves and our race in the future. A lot of our ancestors didn't teach us how to love our hair as it is but we are learning now and teaching the future to love it too.

You did a great job! Even with her tears she was more brave than myself. I transitioned for 2 years before cutting my relaxed ends off. Even after that I still was protective styling because I was used to my hair being damn near bra strap length at the shortest for the last 10 years. But needless to say, after protective styling and lots of moisture and love... My hair is back to bra strap length and growing healthier, thicker and longer than I could ever imagine in it's natural state. I never had a problem with my relaxed hair (relaxed in my profile pic) my cousin just stopped doing hair and I was afraid to let anyone else near my hair! Thanks cousin for helping me make the best decision for my hair!

I was crying as well.....The big chop is no joke.....9 times out of 10 we have no clue what our natural texture looks like.....you don't realize how much perm you need to cut off..... so you have to cut your hair shorter than you anticipated!!!! I have had short hair before....I even had it shaved all the way around with some on top ( that man bun look).... But nothing prepares you for going back to your natural self!!!!!!! We have not seen HER since we were about 11 years old... We do not recognize her... She seems strange and familiar at the same time.... We know she is beautiful, we have the grade school pictures to remind us.....Some where along the way we were told what we had was not beautiful, we believed the lies about our natural beauty and forgot that our Black is Beautiful.... Today is a new day, a new day to reclaim your natural beauty and to show the world that we are back!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was sooo satisfying to watch...eye could feel the WHATEVER trauma trapped in her antennae aka hair releasing with each snip. This young lady is always soo patient and supportive of her friends' hair journeys , just a sweet soul ...my bff did my big chop and eye cried too lol...Sierra eye think was the 1st girl's name , she took it like a G lol, eye also remember she said she had no specific reason why she chopped, just felt like goin ALL the way natural. This young lady didnt share why but her reaction seemed like she needed to do this, glad she did cause its a whole new journey of not just her hair but her whole self....and she gets to take the 1st step looking FIERCE and feeling supported, GREAT JOB LADIES!! hope to see an update!
