Very interesting discussion on the book.
Only one small, point I wish to make:
Though A Suitable Boy got Vikram Seth much fame, sheer size of 1300+ pages n advance by the publisher etc...
Vikram Seth's best book according to me is
*The Golden Gate*
Purely because of the sheer difficult nature of writing such a book, a novel in verse that too entirely in the form of Sonnets.
It's an amazing book
