As much as I love g1 blitzwing as a character and the design in the cartoon I really love him in animated. With him having the split personalities and each one in vehicle mode representing that vehicle mode every time he would switch a personality he would switch in alternate modes unintentionally. I liked the whole German accent and the helmet with the goggles it was a great potrayal of our triple changing friend here.
I have to agree with you on Blitzwing, the only flaws this great toy has are the feet, which have no soles or toes, just two kickstands, and his side mounted weapons. Despite those two flaws, Blitzwing is such a fantastic toy and a wonderful piece of engineering. I had my cousin's hand me down Transformers (being born in 1987, I missed out on the G1 train) and both Astrotrain and Blitzwing were among them. In surprisingly good condition, despite some floppy legs. As I grew up into adulthood, I wanted my own versions of those same G1 toys that were handmedowns. It took around 12 years but I found all of those toys, and then some, amassing an even greater collection than my cousin ever had. It all started with two toys, Optimus Prime, and Blitzwing. My toy was mint in an opened box, purchased for 40 bucks. A large sum, but for an unused toy, that's a steal today. I even used the original stickers, because in 1985 no child ever got the chance to do so, so I felt it was my duty to apply his stickers, and make this toy feel as loved, and cherished as he should have been 34 years ago.
I had to order me a reissue ko and I'm fine with it. Love a few G1s to add to my collection! Great review & thank you for your service sir! God bless America!
Awww, yeah. Now this is ma boi. This is my favorite Triple Changer, both as a character and a toy. I love his depiction in the cartoon and I liked seeing a more honorable side to him in Five Faces of Darkness. I also loved his voice (it was General Hawk himself, what's not to like?) :D
Your review was great! I too only had Blitzwing(out of the two triple changers)as a child. What's funny is my "kid reasoning" was the same. Because even though Astrotrain is bad ass, I always thought a space shuttle isn't a battle vehicle and doesn't a locomotive(which I think looks cool)need "tracks" to get around(like in the TV commercial)That being said, now I wish I had the G1 version of Astrotrain in my very tiny G1 Transformer collection. Oh well, at least I have the Astrotrain that looks like a bullet train? Enjoy and G1, which I also call "original" Transformers will rule forever.
Man I dug this fig as a kid Just once during transformation the tank turret snapped on mine. Seeing I never know how to fix him put aside and was in jetmode. Blitzwing was a Fav and hope gets a nice earthrise/whatever next part will be upgrade
My favorite triple changer.He was awesome in Triple Takeover when he destroyed and flattened the Autobots. I still wondered how Skids,Prowl,Tracks and Blue streak were repaired to their original state considering they were pretty much destroyed.

I found via my "Ultimate Guide to Vintage Transformers" you are missing still from the 1990 Autobots are: The Air Patrol with Tread Bolt, Eagle Eye, Sky High, and Blaze Master 4 Members of the Astro Squad, Phaser and Blast Master the space shuttle and Moonrock and Missile Master the missile carrier The Tanker Transport with Pipeline and Gusher The Micromaster Battlefield Headquarters with Full Barrel and Overflow I hope you found these or at least have some leads on them. It is awesome when you focus on specific Transformers themes and show all of those that fall under that gimmick.

I had a ko that was a leader class size of this that I got as a white elephant gift in my Tf group it was crazy how they were able to blow up this figure yet being able to to transform and the spring for the missle was crazy strong nearly shot my eye out 🤣
I know someone who sells the Platinum Edition Triple Changers Blitzwing and Astrotrain in a good price.,,, But .. idont know. Something i dont like about the colors. Whats your opinion?? I must have g1 Blitzwing and Astrotrain in my collection asap. I want those 2 toys really bad. Also Titans Return s was really good. Actually i think im gonna buy one right now on ebay.... Oh man, My hurt is beating fast! Collecting G1 is like having $ex..hahahaha
LOL!!!! It sure is. I despise the colors of the Platinum Edition myself. The TR one's were really good, didn't care for Astrotrain's train mode though.
