@@PixelKeyPlus And when he's below a certain HP threshold it becomes something he does after every hit. That Riku fight is a tutorial on the Revenge Counter mechanic.

If you're quick enough, when Riku raises his sword to block, you can intentionally bait out his counter and hit him from behind. This is also true for his kick counter, although if you're in a situation to trigger that immediately after his block counter then you might not be able to punish them both and get away with it.
I believe there's an NPC that tells you to ring the doorbell three times in Hallowteen Town, so the game's not quite as tricky as you might think. Just gotta talk to the NPCs.
i would also say, the cocnuts tell you about item dro rates, from enemies. Thatthey can on top of money and mp drop items over chance. So beating more then one is a good idea
Love this breakdown. I’m going through the whole series right now, and I agree Destiny Islands is a great world to dip your toes into the rest of the game.
So far, KH Chain of Memories is the ONLY game (as far as I know) that has Destiny Islands as a level. In fact that last level before the final in Sora’s story.
KH Re:Coded also has Destiny Islands in it. It also functions as a tutorial of sorts in that game, too. Perhaps I could take a closer look at it at some point 😅
That's true. I suppose I did say that he's open after he attacks, but I could’ve mentioned that it's also the case after his counter as well. I should keep specifics like that in mind for next time 👍
I would like Destiney Islands if I wasn't stuck there for multiple hours trying to find out what to do... Same with Wonderland but that is s whole different beast. (KH1 was hard for my young and undeveloped brain)
Every hour on the Neveland Clock Tower corresponds to one of the doors, and one of them will glow. You can then open it to get an item. You can get some good items this way.
Yeah, I really like all the little secrets and details packed into every world. I'm convinced that even after all these years, I still haven't discovered everything 😅
@StrikeDuelist I can understand that. But I believe they just shifted priorities after KH1 and decided to focus on expanding on the combat. If I recall their were a bunch of people who were not fans of all the jumping, climbing, and getting lost. I'm not one of those people, but I can sorta understand why they leaned away from all that after a while.
That was not my intention, but I will gladly take the credit 😅. But for real though, I just used footage that kind of fit the vibe of what I was saying for that bit. That is actually an interesting theory, though. Never thought about it that way before 🤔
The Ansem, Xemnas & Young Xehanort fight in KH3 is a evolvement from the Tidus, Wakka & Selphie fight in KH1. Data Dark Riku in KH3 Remind is a massive evolvement of Riku in KH1 as he has offensive and defensive mechanics to punish players for playing offensive without thought.

Love this breakdown. I’m going through the whole series right now, and I agree Destiny Islands is a great world to dip your toes into the rest of the game.
I hope you enjoy your run though. I recently did the same thing and played through all the games on stream. It's a good series to marathon. 😁
Please do maintain the silliness! Also, this is hella well produced, I'll be sticking around after this
This video was perfect. Pls gimme more of these. Subscriber gained
@@PixelKeyPlus I never played Re: Coded. But I guess that’s fair
@@TheJaredPunchFor a KH game on the DS, it's pretty fun, even if the story is mostly filler.
really enjoyed the video and the analysis you added, keep it up!
Thank you 👍
Ah yes my second home

YOU
*WHAT*
Actully when Riku blocks you can just move out of the way to avoid his counter and then hit him.
That's true. I suppose I did say that he's open after he attacks, but I could’ve mentioned that it's also the case after his counter as well. I should keep specifics like that in mind for next time 👍
I always wanted to return to Destiny Islands… it’s a shame we never get to see them again, I’m curious what the mainland is like.
I enjoy the Destiny islands bit at the end of the game along with the earlier portion. Nothing too special but the three fights were just fun to me
Kingdom hearts version of RS3’s tutorial island
please do this for other worlds!
I have plans to talk about other KH worlds in future videos 👍
never dial back on silliness
Noted 😁👍
7:04 I didn’t know you can deflect these WTF
It's pretty cool right? I would spend ages hitting them to grind for early experience points 😅
You can get The Water from The first place waterfall? I never knew it
Yeah, it's pretty cool that you can do it either way, right?
I would like Destiney Islands if I wasn't stuck there for multiple hours trying to find out what to do... Same with Wonderland but that is s whole different beast. (KH1 was hard for my young and undeveloped brain)
@@ng6635 I feel that. I used to get stuck like that when I first played the game.😅
Ima be real, I've never seen that save point, and I've never noticed that door takes you to the other side of the island.
KH1 just has a lot of missable stuff. I find it pretty cool that their are so many secrets in the game
2:59 The easiest and fastest way to win the race is to completely avoid the course and run across the beach
Yeah, I only found out about that recently. I had never thought to try that before 😅
Fantastic lol one of my favorite worlds created by the series
Yeah, all the KH original worlds are great in one way or another. But it's hard to beat the one that started it all 😁
Very entertaining, keep it up👏
What was that door thing in neverland? I’ve never seen it before
Every hour on the Neveland Clock Tower corresponds to one of the doors, and one of them will glow. You can then open it to get an item. You can get some good items this way.
as silly as this may be it's a great way to get people to start the series
"Games dosent allways show you where they are"
"Shows clip of deep jungle"
Mate thats an understatment of the year 😅
Dont dial back on the silly. It was a lot of fun. Keep this level of it in, its great 👍
This game has aged so well. Many PS2 games have aged terribly but this game still looks great.
I agree 👍
Great video man
I never fought them all I only fought the first guy on the island hahah or maybe I just forgot it since it’s been so long 😮
kh1 worlds were alot more fun exploring wise
Yeah, I really like all the little secrets and details packed into every world. I'm convinced that even after all these years, I still haven't discovered everything 😅
@@PixelKeyPlus ye and u could swim, slide, climb. They got lazy aftter kh1

Wait... are you implying that Riku and Sora are actually the ones that got tied together by the Paopu fruit? ... That's pretty good.
That was not my intention, but I will gladly take the credit 😅. But for real though, I just used footage that kind of fit the vibe of what I was saying for that bit. That is actually an interesting theory, though. Never thought about it that way before 🤔
@@PixelKeyPlus It looks like _I_ was the one reading too much into things this time. 😅
Keep the silly!
Disney It's Actually Suing Me For My Let's Play Kingdom Hearts 2
No way! If that's really the case, then that sucks. Sorry to hear that.
@@PixelKeyPlusAll Because of copyright on one level
It said an effective tool for murder at the start of destiny islands💀
Haha! Thanks for noticing that 😅
Keep the jokes coming
The Ansem, Xemnas & Young Xehanort fight in KH3 is a evolvement from the Tidus, Wakka & Selphie fight in KH1.
Data Dark Riku in KH3 Remind is a massive evolvement of Riku in KH1 as he has offensive and defensive mechanics to punish players for playing offensive without thought.
Ooh, I didn't think of that.
Did I spy a Pikmin reference in here?
What part do you mean? I became a Pikmin fan very recently, so maybe I put in a reference without realising it 😅
Destiny Islands. You can also rearrange and remove some letters to spell out Disney so not a coincidence.
Aha! I never thought of that 🤣. You could also spell the word density, which probably has no deeper meaning
"Destiny Islands" is a total anagram of "It's DisneyLand" 🤪
@@GarysEmporium Woah 😯
Maybe people don’t like kingdom hearts because it only works if you know how to randomly interact with objects instead of strictly relying on the directions. They really train you to think in other ways!
Nice vid
I.... I don't think I ever went INTO the shack. Ever. I never knew there was a save spot there..
That's pretty cool. KH1 seems to be the game that always has something to discover
I like seeing how fast I can skip it now record is 20 mins
It's TeeDus lol
Any body else during the race, just swim on the right side?
Does that work? 😅
