This is absolutely terrible! We too had a similar incident at our 4 year old's birthday party. We rented a bouncy house that resembled a caterpillar, and the idea was that the kids would enter the caterpillar's mouth and exit through the anus. There's lot's of space inside the caterpillar, and there was somewhat of an obstacle course inside as well. A couple of the children were just hanging out inside the tail end of the caterpillar and the wind just took them flying off into the air. The landing was pretty bad as some of the children inside has vomited on themselves, and each other. Thankfully the parents were understanding, but it was scary for everyone involved.
Read the manual before setting up... we set up a bounce castle for our church events and it clearly states to be sure to stake down all anchor points so wind cannot go underneath it. Anytime a bounce castle goes airborne it is due to whomever was setting it up not properly anchoring it down. This is 100% the fault of whoever didn't anchor the thing down properly
Why was a five-year-old out that late at night? Why weren't the parent(s) or guardian with him in the bounce? What an aweful tragedy, the family members will have heavy hearts for years.😢
Most bounce houses have an age and weight limit to prevent accidents. The officials at the game improperly set it up. Bounce castles have tons of anchor points meant to be staked down to prevent it catching wind but clearly they skipped that crucial step to save time.
I think more blame should go to those that set it up and didn’t ensure the stakes were securely in the ground. Some bouncy houses don’t allow adults inside.
I live like 20 minutes from here. It's pretty ridiculous how the park and/or employees couldn't even tie down/stake/or sandbag the castle. There needs to be an investigation.
You'd think after some prominent cases that anyone operating these would think about the possibility of this absolute disaster. It happens quite a bit.
@@Programm4r the bounce castle we rented for our church had like 50 anchor points with huge stakes... i am telling you from experience of setting one of these up many times it most definitely was not anchored down properly and it clearly states in the manual to not miss any anchor points and be sure to stake it down well. This is gross negligence on the Baseball parks part and someone should get jail time for this

The parents really need to be held responsible for letting their kid on it in the 1st place... its about time parents started facing consequences for neglecting the safety of their children.. too many poor innocent children have been hurt or killed that could have so easily been avoided if the parents had any intelligence going on. Surely not letting you kid on a bouncy castle during strong winds is a no no already
The people who set it up and allowed the public into it and didn't propertly anchor it down should be blamed... not the parents. These bouncy houses have tons of anchor points and you are meant to stake them down for this exact thing but most people lazily skip that part because it makes setting it up and taking it down take longer. I remember in middle school thwy had one of those and it had like 50 metal spikes holding it down and when i asked the operator told me it was to prevent it from catching the wind and blowing away.
@@Ancient_Entity obviously the owners are the most to blame but the parents have to share some of the blame too.. would you let your children if you have any on a bouncy castle in high winds without even making sure it was safe 1st ?? because i wouldnt even allow my kids near it in those conditions...
