In order to counter this technology and make it (hypersonic) obsolete, develope a technology that is closer to the speed of light. One thing that can think off is laser and a radar that can detect the hypersonic missle and guide the laser several miles away and detonate it before it hits the intended target.

The western capabilities are way more advance, their stealth bombers, 5th gen fighters etc. they don't need a hypersonic weapon. but their adversaries like Russia, China Iran, North Korea having hypersonic technology is a big hit as the western military assets will be an easy target and it goes in trillions of dollars. That means, its a phycological win for those countries who are currently having hypersonic missiles in their inventory.. Actually, the F-35 can carry 2 hypersonic Mako missiles in its bay. The US not only has these weapons, but it is planning on selling these to countries interested in buying them. American weapons are smaller in size, accurate, and can be launched from multiple platforms.
