Stephen wasn't praying to Jesus: "But he, being full of holy spirit, gazed into heaven and caught sight of God’s glory and of Jesus standing at God’s right hand," Acts 7:55. When you can see someone, or they come to you, and you comunicate as we do now thats not prayer.

He's the same God Jesus prayed to.
