    I loved putting this week's video together! Creating a Home Sanctuary is one of the best things you can do for yourself, in my opinion! Let me know if you enjoyed this video and if you have a specific Home Sanctuary area you'd love to create!

    I created a sanctuary out of my laundry room! I have a shelf above my washer and dryer that are personal gifts from my son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and friends that are about how much they love me - cards, pictures, even a teddy bear from my grandsons. It makes a workroom into a place where I want to stay and feel the love.

      Well that is the most charming and thoughtful thing ever! I’m so inspired by that idea! Such a great example that any room can be a sanctuary, as long as you’re surrounded by the things that you love! ❤️ thank you so much for sharing!

    Never mind the home sanctuary ideas, I couldn't get past that adorable little cutie pie dog lying next to you! My idea of a home sanctuary always includes pets to love and share the space with. Please share your fur baby's name 😍

    The two best things I’ve done is to move my bed into the smaller bedroom and graffiti my bed base. I had a messy divorce and got the house. I tried sleeping in the main bedroom for 18mo and I was stressed. I also couldn’t sleep on the other side of the bed even though he’d never slept in my new bed. As I moved my waterbed down stairs, I saw the wood base boards. I wrote positive words and phrases on it - no one is ever going to see these boards. I put love hearts down the centre of them as I’d get told off if I ever went over on to his side of the bed. Worked immediately and now I feel calmer and even wrote on the boards “Run and jump into bed” on the side. I pull down the cover, prep to run and safely ‘jump’ in bed. There’s a technique to get into a waterbed. I put up pretty curtains, made a beautiful desk, put up art, made a smaller bedside cart that can be easily moved to make my bed and painted my dresser. Oh yeah, I go to therapy too. Hope these unglamorous tips help others. 😊

    A future video presentation on how to blend two different styles when a couple do not have similar tastes/interior design style. Especially in public spaces such as lounge/family, living and dining rooms.

      It’s simple, your style wins indoors and he needs to worry about the outdoors instead 😅

    What do you do with a large bathroom wall that faces a mirror?

    • @ashleychilders
      @ashleychilders  หลายเดือนก่อน

      My favorite thing to do on a wall opposite a mirror is put a large piece of art! If there’s room you can put a narrow bench underneath, they’re always so useful 🤎🤎

    What about husbands? What do we do about them? They just mess the whole thing up! In decorating my home and designing it the way I love, it has become more of a stressor because my husband’s nonsense infiltrates my decor! Or, the minute I make our bed, he lies down on it! 😡😡😡

    • @ashleychilders
      @ashleychilders  หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Ha!!!! I totally get it! Well, I feel like husbands should have their own sanctuary space too that they can decorate and do with it as they please. 😉😉 My husband‘s favorite place is our outdoor fireplace area. He loves it out there!

      What good is a sanctuary, if it can’t be shared, used and lived in? Maybe get a fluffy, feather duvet cover you can use and lay on through the day.
