mega sound as you said haha! sorting through similar issues on my new to me Becker unit. Appreciate the vid! ALSO if you pop the volume knob off and spray contact cleaner then air to blow it dry it should fix that jumpy volume.
Hello there, I have the same radio BE1490. The on-off knob did not work ...after trying (by ticking oother button combined, eg eject) for 10 min. started, I typed the code and boom ! worked !. Turn it off was again the same problem. The same issue happend several times...Any idea of what is he cause and the solution ? Thanks from Athens, Greece.

Also can I have my car running while I wait like with the engine on?
Which button did you press to submit the code? (Like after you entered the numbers which button)
“SC” depending on what year it may be a different button but its same idea
The number was on the radio written by a fat marker 😂
So your code was 5 numbers wow Mercedes keep only giving me 4 numbers I got a 94 e320 🤦🏽♂️
So after I take the radio out what do I suppose to get the serial number and call Mercedes to get the correct code
