I shopped at Aldi yesterday. The prices have gone up, but still cheaper than Walmart and Publix in my area of Florida. All three, stores are across the road from each other 😊.
The 5 packs of egg rolls in fridge section are amazing in the airfryer. They are usually arounf $3.60 a package and they are huge compared to frozen ones.
I spend about $100 a week for all the meals for my family of three by shopping at Aldi. The only time we go over is when we find a few too many shiny treats in the aisle of shame, and we wind up stocking up on novelty snacks and things that will last a while. I swear without the aisle of shame we would spend so much less.
We FINALLY got an Aldi within 20 minutes from us! Their grand opening was today and I didn’t want to fight the crowds but definitely getting there this weekend. I’m so excited!!!
Your parents are sweethearts, I bet your kiddos love it when they visit. Aldi usually carries puff pastry around this tme of year and it's half the price of other stores. So many yummy and impressive things to make with puff pastry - especially with the quick stuff you showed here - shredded chicken plus a dip, cut the pastry sheets into quarters, put a big spoonful on each, egg wash two corners, fold into triangles, fork prints, egg wash the tops, bake 15-min @ 375*. Or combine cream cheese and jam, plus sugar sprinkles and egg wash. Spinach, plus onion chive dip, on and on with the ideas. ❤💚
I did a charcuterie plate for my husband and I last week and bought all the fixings at Aldi. I tried this Gloucester cheddar that was amazing. I’m going to grab that again!
Aldi's Is Still The Best Price Wise And Quality Wise. Yes, You Can't Always Get Everything You Need At Aldi's But Then We Can Just Stop Off At Our Local Grocery Store. Thanks For Checking For All Of Us. I Am SO GLAD To Hear Someone Say That They Are Controlling The Smart Phone Addiction That Is Taking Over This World. Good Job Mom. I Pray All Moms and Dads Will Do The Same. God Bless You And Your Family And Any Fur Babies You May Have. 👍👍👍👍✌️🙏🙏🙏
They were out if the gingerbread mini muffins. They did have the spinach wraps this time. Made wrap with leftover steak with sauteed mushrooms and grern pepper and added a dollop of Carmalized onion alfredo sauce - I use this sometimes instead of dip - for dinner with mushroom soup from Walmart. We are both handicPped here so I have learned how to doctor many products to make different food instead of same old same old. Sometimes I use red pepper hummus as a spread on the spinach wrap.
The comparison might be a little off just because Aldi may have still had their promotion of certain foods (Thanksgiving and staple foods) on sale through the month of Nov and Dec. I think they were matching prices to 2021 or 22 for the holidays. Sonsome of the items might regularly be higher the rest of the year. I hope that made since.
Re peppermint - my mom and I both love the York chocolate peppermint patties, especially this time of year ❤❄️ My mom occasionally makes a homemade version too!
I grew up in Iowa and we had Aldis all over there. When I was a young adult on my own it was my go to for a cheaper option for groceries. I'm in Texas now and we have no Aldi's near San Antonio. I miss it so much!!!! Great video as always Mindy!!!!
I bought two of those lotions myself! Keeping one for myself to put hand lotions in purses etc and we got one for my husbands grandma as a little gift.
I love you, and I love Aldi, but it boggles my mind that they (and many others) still carry flour with bleach in it! All this talk about dyes (valid), and we still have bleach in our flour. 😂😂
Have you watched Antiques Roadshow on PBS? I think the sound effects they use for comparing original valuations to current valuations could be amusing when you compare specific items.
We love ALDIs sourdough bread, the jambalaya mix, tofu, dry soup mixes-potato and chicken noodle(for a quick meal), and all the varieties of nuts and seeds.
The price rise is less than I expected. Here in Australia, we are also experiencing inflation, fed by the supermarkets putting prices up in a way which does not reflect higher costs (which I would not blame them for) but does reflect their desire to life profits at all costs (which I do blame them for). Some things I will not buy anymore. It is the principle! Thank you for the video. Appreciated! I hope your husband is enjoying his new job!
(Posting as Joyce) Thank you for this video! I am always happy when I come home on a Thursday or Friday and see a new video from you! As far as name brands are concerned, I do not like canned vegetables unless they are Delmonte. I have tried other ones, and they just are not as good, in my opinion. I have tried the shredded chicken at Aldi, it is a time saver, but unfortunately, it has too much pepper for me. I just bought their ground sausage and made sausage soup. I am disappointed at the price of eggs! Almost $4.00 a dozen at my Aldi. I bought 5 dozen yesterday at Costo for a little less than $15.00. If you ever see dark chocolate in the "Specialty Brand" in a pouch, make sure you buy it!! It is the best dark chocolate that I have tried. Very smooth. I haven't seen it at my Aldi's lately. I buy the honey wheat bread there all the time to make lunch for my husband. My kids like the pizzas in the refrigerator section. I do not care for the Clancy brand kettle chips, very greasy to me. Have a great weekend. 😊
The Aldi peppermint Oreo dupes are delicious! And once they are gone, they’re gone! I saw them a couple of weeks ago and picked them up immediately, they are in my downstairs fridge until the holiday.
I KNEW Aldi had gone up on their prices. Used to, they’d beat every store in town on price. Now, they’re edging closer to Kroger prices on a lot of things. If I watch the circulars for other stores in town, I can usually do better than Aldi’s loss leaders each week. Kind of sad. They don’t get nearly as much of my business as they did. 😢
I was @ my Aldi last wk,meat was high. I went to my local Giant n scored better there then # Aldi's. My score of the day was when I found RAOS Spaghetti sauce for 2:24 I brought the last 3 jars. Hav a great vacy .🐕
It's been a little while since I've bought raisins at Aldi because we've been finishing two big bags of Sunmaid that I bought at our warehouse club. I actually have been really disappointed in the Sunmaid raisins. They are tiny, not plump, kinda dry and at least some stems.
I haven’t looked this year, but I got a big multi pack of the seasonal sparkling ice at Sam’s club last year. It had both of those flavors and a sugar plum flavor I believe.
I love our Aldi, however, Walmart down the road from them has been very competitive. I check both spots to price compare. My household loves all the Aldi Christmas goodies. My husband hides them so we don't see them right away or else they would be gone.
I use Walmart a lot, and I've done several price comparisons between the two places. Usually Aldi comes out on top, but by just a few %, and for some of us, Aldi can't compete with Walmart on grocery pickup and delivery. It just depends on what we need at the time, so I end up shopping at both places.
My Aldi has lasagna noodles on sale, they don't usually have them year round so I'm stocking up. Also I'm a peppermint fan too and always get the white chocolate mint pretzels. Those I'll save for a snack board during football.
A lot of their good produts had disappeared from the shelves. The prices have risen, the products have shrunk. I don't bother with them anymore. I shop around now, its worth the extra hour of my time

The two pack pork loin was a great deal. For myself i can slice, cut in half, cut chops etc.
I did a charcuterie plate for my husband and I last week and bought all the fixings at Aldi. I tried this Gloucester cheddar that was amazing. I’m going to grab that again!
We love to try the cheeses, I will look for that next time I'm in Aldi!
Gloucester is my favorite and not always in stock.

I really wish we had an ALDI !
The tomato basil chicken sausages are good. I make a pasta skillet with them and both of my kids like it!

Aldi has inch by inch raised their prices. We watch for their sales and get those mostly. They are still cheaper than other places here usually.
we always stock up on their longaniza... instead of chorizo, its less fatty, delicious, we make it with scrambled eggs... so tasty for breakfast.
Re peppermint - my mom and I both love the York chocolate peppermint patties, especially this time of year ❤❄️ My mom occasionally makes a homemade version too!

But do you have HEB? That's my FAVORITE grocery store!
I bought two of those lotions myself! Keeping one for myself to put hand lotions in purses etc and we got one for my husbands grandma as a little gift.
We've been buying the schnitzels. At our store you can get pork, chicken or beef.
The Aldi bill has gone up 8% in 10 months. That’s twice the rate inflation is suposed to be running at!!!
Feb 2023 to Dec 2024.
It's actually gone up in 8% in 22 months (Feb of 2023 to now), but still...
And let's not forget the shrinkage of the products too..not just food but for example what used to be a gallon of bleach...is no more..
"Supposed to be." Depends who's crunching the numbers.
Gov't does not figure groceries in the inflation index...per Market Watch on NPR
We like the ALDI Caesar salad dressing.
I love you, and I love Aldi, but it boggles my mind that they (and many others) still carry flour with bleach in it! All this talk about dyes (valid), and we still have bleach in our flour. 😂😂
9:42 I picked one up last year planning for gifts but we liked them so much we kept at least half. 😂 I bought them again this year.
Have you watched Antiques Roadshow on PBS? I think the sound effects they use for comparing original valuations to current valuations could be amusing when you compare specific items.
Their popcorn is good they had chocolate covered and did have peppermint in the past. They may have it this year.
I love the Aldi stuffed mushrooms
The Aldi frozen broccoli florets are also superior to Walmart frozen broccoli.
We love ALDIs sourdough bread, the jambalaya mix, tofu, dry soup mixes-potato and chicken noodle(for a quick meal), and all the varieties of nuts and seeds.
Those are all great choices! I've been wanting to try the jambalaya mix.

That is the same problems in the US.
The fuge covered were out today and no aldi oreos. They did have peppermint bark.

I agree...and those fudge covered ones were SO GOOD! I wish I had bought a couple boxes.
I got the lotion set on my last trip. As I put them in the cart I told my husband.... "I just helped you get one of my Christmas gifts!" HA HA!
haha! so true, and I do that same kind of thing! :)
The dipper are good. Alids I alway shop first ❤enjoy your weekend ❤ that aside of shame gets me all the time lol
I was at Aldis today. A lot of their prices have gone up in the past 6 weeks since I’d been there
I got the same hand lotion for stockings
I grabbed two of the peppermint Oreo dupes too! They were gone the next time I went.

No Giant in my area. Glad I have Aldi.
I'll Comment Again. The Aldi's Riced Cauliflower Is Delicious. And So Much Cheaper Than Some Other Brands.👍👍👍🙏
I agree!
True- not everything is great at every store. The Aldi raisins that I’ve had had way too many stems.
Oh gosh ! I just bought a canister today to use for Christmas cookies, hope they're good😮
@@chriskryzak604 let us know. It could have been just our luck or the time of year or something.
It's been a little while since I've bought raisins at Aldi because we've been finishing two big bags of Sunmaid that I bought at our warehouse club. I actually have been really disappointed in the Sunmaid raisins. They are tiny, not plump, kinda dry and at least some stems.
We don’t have Aldi in my area. Only Albertsons and Walmart so we suffer with grocery prices.
I haven’t looked this year, but I got a big multi pack of the seasonal sparkling ice at Sam’s club last year. It had both of those flavors and a sugar plum flavor I believe.
I liked the apple cider one, but my family did not. They liked the cranberry one I got, though.
I love our Aldi, however, Walmart down the road from them has been very competitive. I check both spots to price compare.

I've been looking forward to this video. Prices of groceries are ridiculous.
No meat or fish were marked down at my Aldi today
Aldi has butter on sale! Yay!!!
My Aldi has lasagna noodles on sale, they don't usually have them year round so I'm stocking up. Also I'm a peppermint fan too and always get the white chocolate mint pretzels. Those I'll save for a snack board during football.
yes, I've noticed they don't carry the lasagna noodles all year round.
Our Aldi’s prices are pretty much prices at Walmart . Not a bargain anymore
What is the same size product? Same ounces? Etc. I am seeing a lot of shrinkflation
Yes, I did check for that, too.
Gosh, I remember many years back when they shrinkflationed a bag of sugar from 5lbs to 4lbs !
A lot of their good produts had disappeared from the shelves. The prices have risen, the products have shrunk. I don't bother with them anymore. I shop around now, its worth the extra hour of my time
❤
I was disappointed. They were out od Spekulatius.
