I really LOVE this show. It’s one of my all time favorites. Unfortunately, you all probably heard of an accident that happened during the late night show on April 22, 2023.
This show really struck a chord with me, every time I've seen it. Its what inspired me to get into theme park design as a possible career path as the magic it holds is truly only limited by your imagination and this show in every iteration is a testament to that.
I first saw Fantasmic back in 1998 when I was a kid and up to this day it's still one of the best nighttime spectaculars I have ever seen. It always makes you emotional.
That intro was awesome, perfect way to transition into the main topic. DisneySea's Fantasmic was certainly the most unique but Disneyland's Fantasmic has improved so much. I sure hope WDW's Fantasmic gets an upgrade
Fantasmic is something I actually remember from my childhood and it still makes me cry/ gives me goosebumps. Only ever seen it in Disneyland but the Tokyo one looked amazing.
Fantasmic is my fave night show in Disney. But I have only grew up with the Walt Disney World version, and love it. I consider it my favorite and always want to go see it on my trips. The idea and story of the show is wonderful and a lot of fun!!
Man they really go all out with these things, meanwhile in my home park the only show is some jugglers and divers who perform in front of a crowd of dozens.
I've been lucky enough to see each major version of this in Disneyland, and while the OG Disneyland holds a special place in my heart, but the newest Disneyland version is INCREDIBLE. In every way, to me at least, it's a big improvement.
Fantasmic is still my favorite part of visiting Disney World. Better than the fireworks, better than the rides, that’s my favorite part. That show is just something completely else. Something special
I would personally love to see that 20,000 Leagues segment to happened! But thankfully our favorite Giant Squid is back in a more comical cameo at the new Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway ride.
Great video! You should do more on the history of magic kingdom parades, Disneyland parades etc and the nighttime spectaculars, that would be very interesting!
I would love to see the Haunted Mansion themed nighttime show. That one sounds awesome and would be great for Halloween each year. Sucks to constantly hear about how many things got cut back due to Disneyland Paris’ opening. The 20,000 Leagues scene sounds pretty amazing.
I preferred the original dragon head on a stick. It allowed for an almost instant morphing from Maleficent. Now the dragon looks like a giant plastic toy and the morphing sequence is much less impressive. Also, my last trip to Disneyland there was no riverboat finale. All the characters assembled on the island. Maybe that's just something they do if there's a problem with the boat? Great content as always. I really enjoyed this. Thanks.
Fantasmic should never have been changed at Disneyland. I can guarantee that it will be changed back in the future complete with all the original music and scenes, especially Peter Pan. If someone doesn't beat me to the job first, it's on the top my laundry list to make Disneyland great again after seizing the Disney company in a hostile takeover. Nobody will miss Jack Sparrow.
The technology used for Fantasmic would make a kick-ass Haunted Mansion themed show. Disney do this NOW!!! It’s perfect timing when the shows are no shows.
Also I’m surprised it wasn’t mentioned that the original fantasmic was “clickbaited” HARD, by stating the electrical parade was ending that night forever, and from then on, only fantasmic would persue nightly. In so cal, there were giant billboards all over saying “say goodbye forever to your forever favorite!” With a lit up caterpillar on the billboard that was all lit up like the parade creatures! We were all sad the parade was gone and that’s why my family went to the park, to see the electrical parade “one last time”. Years later it was back lol. Maybe even less than years later. I’d love to see a video about that!
My fiancé and I both saw fantasmic on opening day! We are forever searching for pics or video where we could both be seen Hahahah. We were 8 and never met before.
I think WDW gas the grandest and best version of the ride, the dragon on a stick isn't as impressive as the new one, but it adds a theater show feel to the studio version...... And it's ALOT bigger and moves much more, the Pocahontas portion is AMAZING and all of the floats are beautiful and that's not even mentioning the extra scenes..... The mountain is stunning.... And nothin beats the crowd wave.... The story is magical but clear.... And the steamboat Willie ending gets me every time....... Plus there's alot of fireworks in the studios version making it feel SO grand and stunning ...... But anyways great vid 🖕
I watched fantasmic at Disney sea every year (its my local Disney park) the and so sad that its closed. Managed to catch it this January and it was so emotional knowing I was watching for the last time.
It's such a shame the park didn't get to give the show a proper send off, let's hope the new show can fill the big shoes left behind by Fantasmic! - Luke
Disneyland’s version remain the beat and brightest with Tokyo DisneySea’s (now retired) version being 2nd best. The Florida version at Disney Hollywood Studios is horrible and needs major changes and technical upgrades like Disneyland’s version underwent.
Who else when they were young would play the soundtrack and turn the sprinklers/hose/old skool Mickey toy sprinkler off and on on music cues!!! Haha! I did!!!
Thanks for the idea Kavin! I saw it reccomended by you on our community post a few months ago and knew I needed to make it! Hopefully it lived up to your expectations :) - Luke

Fantasmic is the best show Disney has ever created, and that's a fact
I first saw Fantasmic back in 1998 when I was a kid and up to this day it's still one of the best nighttime spectaculars I have ever seen. It always makes you emotional.

I just realized that Tokyo DisneySea modifying the theme song by incorporating the word "Imagination" is like an homage to Fantasmic's orginal title.
Man they really go all out with these things, meanwhile in my home park the only show is some jugglers and divers who perform in front of a crowd of dozens.

I adore Fantasmic, but I wish they had never replaced the Peter Pan segment with Jack Sparrow
Agree, it would have been a fun overlay but whatever
I think every hardcore fan of Fantasmic agrees with you on that one
Peter Pan will be back one day. The crocodile barge was preserved.
Same!
It was the highlight of the show. After the scene, there was loud applause. Now after the strange pirate scene, silence.
Hey dude I know you credit who the videos belong to but I can't find the tokyo one anywhere. Can you please like give out a link or something?
LOVE LOVE LOVE Your reviews! I really look forward to your postings. Keep going!
One quick edit. The show times opening year were 9:00, 10:30, & 11:45.
Ricci is pronounced like Richie. I used to work with her at Disneyland back in the 80s. 😊
Fantasmic is still my favorite part of visiting Disney World. Better than the fireworks, better than the rides, that’s my favorite part. That show is just something completely else. Something special
This has to be my favorite Disney show. I remember being very excited to see Fantasmic when I was little. Hopefully someday I'll get to see it again.
I was lucky enough to see the original show back in 1993 and several times since! For me it was the highlight of my entire day!
I would personally love to see that 20,000 Leagues segment to happened! But thankfully our favorite Giant Squid is back in a more comical cameo at the new Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway ride.
I’m glad you acknowledged “Walt Disney World being Walt Disney World” always copying Disneyland, but making it cheaper
Fantasmic is so wonderful. I absolutely love it
Underrated channel.
Great video! You should do more on the history of magic kingdom parades, Disneyland parades etc and the nighttime spectaculars, that would be very interesting!
Thanks for the idea Jack, we will definitely look into it! - Luke

Disneyland Paris used to have a phantom Manor projection show in 2004. Ironically, it was also the first time Disney used projections on a surface.

It seems the Murphy nickname for the dragon was quite appropriate…it just burned down last night.
Two nights or so I was wishing for a video like this

The Main Street Electrical Parade did not end its original run in 1992. Both shows ran together on many nights until the fall of 1996.

All I want for my birthday is for Disneyland to reopen!
Boy just wish for the corona to end it would work same way
Castmembers are being seen cleaning up around California Adventure so it might be sooner than you think
Great Video i love Fantasmic so much it's the one best show ever made by Disney
I watched fantasmic at Disney sea every year (its my local Disney park) the and so sad that its closed. Managed to catch it this January and it was so emotional knowing I was watching for the last time.

Personally I think the one in florida could use a change and refresher. Just looks so dated compared to the other parks.
I want some Fantasmic! shows at the Disneyland Paris resort and the Hong Kong Disneyland resort!
Disneyland’s version remain the beat and brightest with Tokyo DisneySea’s (now retired) version being 2nd best. The Florida version at Disney Hollywood Studios is horrible and needs major changes and technical upgrades like Disneyland’s version underwent.
but haven't i seen fantastic in disneyland paris too? i'm pretty sure...
Who else when they were young would play the soundtrack and turn the sprinklers/hose/old skool Mickey toy sprinkler off and on on music cues!!! Haha! I did!!!
I'm sorry, did you say powdered coffee creamer?
Yep! Blasted out and then set on fire! Mythbusters even tested it on an episode one time - th-cam.com/video/yRw4ZRqmxOc/w-d-xo.html - Luke
@@ReviewTyme That's a priceless bit of news to me. Hilarious.
@@ReviewTyme Awesome!
BraviSEAmo still makes me cry every time I hear or watch it...
Do you see the fantasmic IP ever going away completely
They should bring Fantasmic over to Disneyland Paris. They could host it in that new lagoon they're building at Walt Disney Studios Paris.
Fantastisch is so wonderful
wait can someone explain the powdered coffee creamer thing lol, was that a joke or was it real
Alright, who was gonna tell me that Fantasmic in DisneySea was closing?
