I roundly agree with General Shankar his views...spot on!!!...unfortunately, I am of d viewpoint that this new 4 year opportunity that awaits Bharat will be wasted yet again!...why?...the enemy is within as d good General has stated...Bharat is full of dishonest people n most of these people r Hindus themselves who will sell out n obstruct India's progress for a few peanuts n votes...Indian bureaucracy is full of bureaucrats who r still operating with a colonial/ non-aligned mindset...dont antagonise Russia n China...better sit on d fence, chew betel nut n scratch ur navel button...take no action!!!
Gen Ravishankar should focus more on specifics rather than generalities. For example, what exactly are the barriers to bring manufacturing to India from China. China's exports are heavily weighted to electronics and machinery. The main barriers in India are not skilling levels. It is undisciplined work forces and chaotic political constructs where proposals by one party are always shot down by another party. So, it is not possible to set up a unit to manufacture some electronic or machinery item at a large enough scale because whether it is land for the factory, utilities or workforce, each one gets controlled by a different set of parties and their payoff costs make the projects unviable at any scale. That is what you should address and say, that is where your problem is. So fix that. Study where there have been successes at large scale manufacturing for exports. There may be some manufacturing for within country markets but those are highly protected and their social and political inefficiencies are covered by monopolies. Thus there is no way you could be competitive globally at scale in manufacturing. Why are Bihar and Bengal unable to compete with garments in Bangladesh. After all, they should have much lower labor costs that Bangladesh or Vietnam. So why do our own businessmen prefer to have factories in Bangladesh and not in Bihar? That is a problem that should be fixed and it is your job to point it out.
Great submission of uncomfortable truths. If only most have such understanding and acceptance.. A large overhaul only can counter the detrimental factors. Us, the 'Ruled' need to be aware and convey strongly to our current rulers who mean well unlike the predecessors.predecessors
The previous governments in America were supposedly experienced, but we all saw where that led America. Saying that the people appointed by Trump lack experience is absolutely not correct, for we need change we can’t be hanging on to the same old people who are only experienced in doing the predictable things and things remain unchanged endlessly. In India too we are almost stuck in the same old ways, now people are eagerly waiting for some drastic change in our policies, take immediate actions, and our present government is too slow to take actions, we feel rightly that the sooner the running of the government is in the hands of the younger leaders the better it is for our country. Experience can come only by trying various things, sometimes we might be wrong, but doesn’t matter, where there is a will there is always a way to learn and bounce back. Indians especially are mostly negative and are always ready to pick faults in everything especially old people like this guest. Come on you have had your chance and you did things trapped in a particular situation, but don’t expect everybody to be satisfied sitting inside a cage, saying that they want to do great things but are unable to do so: taking a complete defeatist attitude. I am sure Trump and his team would do very well! My advice to oldies is to just sit back and enjoy their retired life and watch the fun. This advice is from a 66 year old woman.
@@Whoknows-z5o Thank you. Somehow, although I am old, I simply cannot bring myself to think like them, I am all for the younger generation, and maybe that is why I get along with them well, maybe I am physically old, but mentally I can still relate to the reality, the present and the future. Yes, we have to keep up the spirit.
Along with China How does India Deal with @0 Crore plus Muslims who mostly are both anti India AND anti Hindus is equally important for the Security of the country.
I do agree with Lt Ravishankar Ji, most of the Indian companies are grey n black. Most of the players are just show MoU type of paper to fool own market. They procure n label it to chew the cream, without any basic efforts unfortunately. We should accept that, almost ZERO at R&D n keen to import label sticker also. Even our defence products support is also have no exemption from this.
Law abiding people in India when we have bad law and worse judiciary. Unless all judges of Supreme Court is dismissed jailed and sent to Afghanistan jailed under taliban
Another interesting comment by Gen Ravishankar. Some finance secy told him the story that the API mfrs said the moment they start producing, the exports exploded and they had to import more from China. Some finance secy and some analyst that is. What he is saying is the mfr misjudged the market scale, but since he is still making and profiting from the API for internal market, why didnt he simply double his plant or put another plant and double or X times his capacity? I suspect this was because he got subsidies for a plant for some scale and that led to his undercapacity of the product for the market. So the problem probably was bad govt judgments, bad finance secys and poor analysts like the present one. Understand how competitive markets work - you need to make a profit by having lowest costs of production and lowest market prices. You can drive costs lower by direct subsidies which are liable to corruption, manipulation and trickery which is 90% of the cases. That is where your problems are, not elsewhere. You can fix it because the politics sucks and the electorate keep electing corrupt benefit promising politicians who will simply give money away and then try to impose hidden rents/protection moneys to recapture their investments and prepare for the next round of lollipops for the electorates. This is where your problems are.
Great listening to your podcast and the analysis. If I summarize it, is that if we can do it ourselves in the shortest time slot, start manufacturing item, product and aggregates that we are importing from China, the better it is and disallow them to invest in Bharat, we would be serving ourselves the best and may be the world too. The only thing is that whatever shall be producing should be of the top notch quality and with a capacity to cater to the world and not just for ourselves. Instead of producing ten items as import substitutions, we may produce two vital items.s.
With Nirmala and all her babus in finance ministry we must b ready to miss many more buses.....Modis arrogance is unmatched in stubbornly retaining Nirmala in finance....one wonders whats in her?!
Yeah, it is very irritating when people living elsewhere start acting smart. They should always think before they utter such crap. He is living in California, that has become worse than the poorest city in the world.
The view of India from far away is much better than from within India. You guys are bogged down with day to day life and no time to think of the world.
Thanks to Shree Iyer, excellent advise by Lt.Gen PR Shankar Ji. 🙏🇮🇳🙏

Good discussions by lt.gen.ravishankarji on p.gurus.❤
I’m greatly impressed with the in-depth analysis of current events of the issues he deals with. Wish him all the best.
Both leaders are labelled always Nation First which will lead to some abrasion but will be overcome by diplomacy which Modi govt. is excellent.

Why this channel is showing old photos of the guests. Don't have new photos? Seems the editor is sleeping?
Both India and USA have their interests first policy. Differences and clashes in interests are bound to come but Geo Political conditions will rule.
