Talk about your DO EVERYTHING kayak for a tournament angler. Great walk through! Going to be a LOT of these sold this year. Probably THE most versatile kayak on the market this year.
Really, great review! They have setup this boat so clean, with multiple motor, electronics, and accessory mounting options. The bow storage, and recessed battery storage into the hull, for your motor. The swivel seat is amazing. I love my pdl drive, with my rear motor setup. Especially on a 12ft boat. I can't wait to this kayak with the different setups, and ideas people will use. And make it their own. 💯 🛶 🎣
Great overview! I can't wait to see one of these in person. I would like to see the bottom of the kayak though to determine if my Lowrance 3-in-1 transducer will comfortably fit in their transducer area. I've seen a few different videos and none of them have displayed the bottom. Thanks again.
I just uploaded a video short showing the entire underneath of the kayak. I run a Lowrance hook7 tripleshot. I would have no issue putting that underneath
You will have to drill to run lines. Foot control is an option that is not available to ship yet (soon) I just wanted to do bare bones as several ICAST videos were done with it fully rigged
Really thinking of going from a Hobie PA12 to this. The only thing holding me back is the seat. Not crazy about the swivel seat but I love the Hobie Vantage seat.
@@thebeardedpaddler One of the biggest sell for the Hobie is how comfortable the seat is. The Native seat just doesn't look comfortable. It looks like it was designed with the swivel feature in mind rather than comfort. I'd obviously have to sit in it to see but other than that I'd love to have the Native.
@@newenglandangler its actually a Millennium seat. They design seats for boats and have the same seats on Nucanoe kayaks. Its very comfortable to me as the back has a bit of an arch support. That being said, Hobie PA seats will be a bit more comfortable. I rock a Kayak Kushion regardless whether im in a Hobie or a Native though.
I love it! Thanks for the great review. I look forward to seeing the 10.5 also as it might be more practical for me. I’m pretty sure a Native Titan X will be a winter purchase. I anticipate using a bow-mount trolling motor and not a stern drive. Want and need that pedal-drive exercise.
Outstanding presentation ! You are very knowledgeable and thorough about your products. I have an old town 106 MK and also as Ap120 for my Florida trips . The Native you showed is a fantastic kayak, probably the most innovative and adaptable on the market today . Thank You for the walkthrough.

There are 2 new kayaks out that are just amazing...The OldTown EPDL and the TitanX are both high on my wish list!! The issue for me is deciding which one and acquiring the funds and approval from the wife. 🤣
I got to take out the EPDL for a test drive, alongside a regular Native Titan and not the X. I can only imagine what the X will be like, but I'd rather have a Titan 13 with an Xi3. They were both amazing, but adding a motor to the Titan would be, what I felt, was a more stable platform and for less money.
Titan X is nice, but I still love my Titan 13.5. Yes, it’s a Barge, for me I got it for the stability being I fish in the back bays of NJ and some of the larger reservoirs throughout the state.
You think the new seat system would mount on to a previous model? I would be really interested in doing that for mine, never was a big fan of the current seat base system. Would rather have the space under the seat with a tray.
Good (Dry, as opposed to "On-the-Water") review of some of the features and upgrades of the Titan series 'Yaks. (But what the heck are you doing wearing a Jackson 'Yak SHIRT...?) Lol... Heck, I'm still waiting for my "promised" T-shirt from Native, that the dealer said I'd get...and that was over 5 years ago when I bought my Titan...! Haha! I WANT one, but "Fully Rigged" it would cost over $9,200 Bucks! (Electronics, Newport Nk-300, Bow trolling motor with "spot-lock", batteries, micro-poles, lighting, etc...!
Love everything about the new Kayak. I can only pull the trigger on it it meets my one specific demand please the hull speed has to be capable of faster speeds or equivalent then a hobbie kayak. I know Kayaks are not meant for speed. But i need to cover more water with my style of fishing. And NO I dont want a bass boat. lol.
Motorized? Or non motor? The Hobie drive will be faster. The prop style drive gives you a lot more control (instant reverse, etc) Speed will go to the Hobie though.
Iam thinking the native 12 .5 X will be my next kayak great video I bought the P127 last year in March 2022 the turning ratio was terrible I sold the kayak it took 3 months
Love your videos!!! what i really really want to see is how do you route the cables from a torqeedo 1103 AC install to the battery inside the rear battery box while maintaining some form of water tight integrity and ability to remove the motor. Also, fyi, Native is not giving away the motor plate on their more current builds, they say they changed it so it's no longer free. thank you!!!
Good question. I would route inside to the access plate to the stern to plug the motor into. This would require a hole to be drilled through the battery tub. Best bet would be to put a thru-hull grommet on the tub itself to maintain the integrity
@@thebeardedpaddler oh man..... I think we might of met a couple years ago then. We have some friends that live in Cotter. Def will have to swing by next trip down there.
Want to get you’re opinion on something. After you having experience with hobie PA and native titan X as of today which one do you like better. Money is not a factor. Great videos and info as always!
I still prefer the drive on the Hobie. BUT the overall hull design and features on the Titan X. The turning radius and stability are much better on the Titan X and that really surprised me. If I could go back, I can say I wouldn't choose a Titan X to be honest
Native makes a wheel transport system called the sidekick for its kayaks. With a Ss127 I would really use a bar style cart like the wildy cart or the yakattack cart.
Hello sir, I have a question. Trying to decide between the slayer max 10 or the titan x 10.5. Really only considering 10 foot size so I can keep it in my truck bed. Most I am going to do is a simple fish finder and maybe one day consider a torquedo or something similar. I am just looking for quality of life such as ease of transport, loading/unloading from my truck bed (no trailer), moving on the water, storage compartments. Which would you recommend between the 2?
Slayer Max 10 for the reasons you stated. It's going to be lighter and for your needs/plans it's not overkill. The Titan X is almost 150lbs. They are both really great platforms and both have the exact same pedal drive.
Any idea how low this kayak sits in the water? I'm curious if it can be used in shallower rivers like the Susquehanna, etc. - i know it wouldn't be ideal but could it get by occasionally?
@thebeardedpaddler no, just when I stand it's really wobbly. It's my first kayak and I love kayak fishing I just want to be able to stand to skip docks amd punch mats..... if you had to give a percentage on the increase in stability on the titan what would it be? Thanks a lot
@@jimmywallhanger8402 it's the difference between primary and secondary stability. Primary is that initial "wiggle" and secondary is one the kayak is "leaned" until you feel additional resistance. Titan x has more primary but you are talking about a kayak that weighs 100lbs more. I would get used to your Unlimited more and get your sea legs used to it.
I’ve had 3 natives and with that being said all have been wet rides when scuppers aren’t in place and it rains or gets windy… does water come up through the open scupper holes ?
There are pros and cons to both. Instant reverse is nice on bicycle and it helps when you have a fish on to be able to instantly pedal away ro maintain tension. The fins are better in tall grass and weeds and have better speed and less energy used
